As I recall, Syria has been a desired territory by many of those involved. What would France desire in this country ? Hopefully things don't escalate and Syria begins to drop back and end their chemical weapons programs. This kitten over here (meow)
Reginald 13,841
Why do we allow our lives to be determined and decided like this?? I detest Trump, I don't agree with Macron in this decision, Putin is a monster. Why do these people get to decide whether my, your, or their lives get to continue? I'm so frustrated and ANGRY right now. Donald Trump shouldn't be the determining factor in whether or not we wake up tomorrow. I HATE ALL OF THIS

Just dive in and get as much information as you can, sort out the disinformation, and make a working hypothesis. I've done the above, and have my own conclusions, it's worth trying. Be careful not to use any government funded news media, though. Disinformation is rampant, especially on social media from Russian trolls. idk how to dissociate what is a good news what is funded by the governments or not I'll stay clueless and watch my tv shows I guess
ImmaculateHB 8
Well good morning from Damascus, the strike “aka the biggest joke” is over (the whole thing took 50 Minutes), so allow me to clear some points for you just to understand what’s happening here. First as a syrian who lives in Damascus I want you to know that the majority of Syrians do support Assad as we don’t want some extreme Islamists terrorists to rule our country (that are supported financially and military wise by the American system along with Saudi Arabia and friends). Second there was no use whatsoever of chemical weapons in Ghouta (we have family and relatives living there and the only damage they had was done by those terrorists that finally the Syrian army managed to save). Syria has no chemical weapons and Thor’s videos were totally fabricated and proven to be fake but unfortunately the media shows the world what works for their agenda. Third this strike was a joke, and just to save face water for trump, he totally made a joke of himself, the strikes targeted 3 locations that has nothing to do with chemical weapons lol! And thank go syrian defense managed to drop most of these missles. I’m just worried now what could be the response from Russia (hopefully nothing will happen as I wish no harm for anyone) meanwhile people are celebrating victory here in Damascus with music. US media outlets are privately owned, so they're usually independent. Their information especially on these attacks are directly from France/British/US government resources though, so if you're not willing to trust their info, you likely won't trust them either. Anything from Russia is funded by the government, and directly an arm of the Russian government, so that's a no-go zone. I would just wait it out. If things come up that doesn't support US and their allies claims, the US media will be the first ones to scream from the mountain tops. Just wait it out and stay open! France has been involved militarily with the past 3 presidents especially in Africa because of our relationships and military help with our former colonies (And Hollande was the most involved, not Sarkozy or Macron) Not to mention that François Hollande already striked Irak in 2014 to fight ISIS (on demand of Irak government) but decided to not strike ISIS in Syria because we didn't want to be involved in the Assad issue. However after the attacks in France we striked Syria in 2015

You're being lied to by your government, and it's leader, Assad. They are using chemical weapons on your people, and he is a war criminal. I hope that you and your family are safe through this civil war and/or the consequences of your governments use of banned weapons. Stay safe. I do understand your point, the fact that I live here, and I have family living where they said chemical weapons have been used and they totally denied the use of it and the fact they’re still alive disagree with your statement. Your media and your government have been lying to you so they can feel free to do whatever they like here. Look at the big picture, do you really think trump cared about syrian people? Where is his reactions in different countries where more crimes happening atm? The fact that Syria holds now a huge natural gas and oil reservoirs shows you why this is even happening. I don't believe Trump really cares about the Syrian people, no. I can guarantee you that Assad and Putin care much much less about your family and your countries civilian population. The career intelligence officers that risk their lives to get crucial information for our country are 100% believable, and General Mattis, the man in charge of such strikes, is 100% capable of using that information appropriately. The truth is that your government is using chemical weapons. I can't fight a 24/7 propaganda machine, but just know that you're in the perfect position to be lied to, and Putin has proven time and time again to be on the wrong side of moral issues. Syria is not North Korea, we don’t live a propaganda trust me, i don’t agree totally with all of Assad’s decisions, but all I can say is that we used to be a very happy country until we received those manufactured terrorist groups that are mostly not Syrians to create instability to weaken the country at all levels so it’s easier for countries with interest to put their hands on our oil and gas. If you were here you’ll realize that this scenario repeats itself every time the Syrian army regain it’s reign over areas that were taken by the terrorsits. I don’t want to argue as i’m Exhausted and had no sleep but I wish for once people try to look at the history of my country, check the indicators that lead to this war and why from a different perspective. 😘
