Sia's Voice Cracks

Am I the only one that thinks it sounds unpleasant? Sure they add emotion, but it just makes her seem like she's inexperienced at singing.

In the long run it definitely isn’t healthy for her.

It sounds good and emotional to me and I think it’s her signature sound. But she truly is an overrated vocalist coz imo vocalists should sing in a healthy tone not in a tone that would damage his/her voice. It’s her choice anyway, if she doesn’t mind damaging her voice and not being able to hit notes like how she does in the future, it’s ok and I kinda enjoy that sound too.

the biggest problem I have with her voice is that, people are trying way too hard to get that raspy high pitched powerful voice with cracks. It doesn’t sound good when you are not SIA!!

Sometimes it adds a lot of weight and drama, like in "Chandelier". But more often than not, especially when it happens during sustained notes, it sounds like she needs either a lozenge or a vocal lesson.

It sounds really nice to me. I mean, it's probably not good for her, but just sound-wise, I like it.

she has one of the best vocal ranges in pop music imo, and the breaks, craks and all only characterize it. you know youre hearing sia belt when you hear sia belt.

after watching this video now I find her cracks annoying and it makes me think that she's not a good singer:toofunny:

It's her signature thing and they're fine - loved them at first, now it's whatever.

Prefer her voice without.

She’s honestly the goddess of vocals. I could listen to her sing me a math textbook and I’d probably cry

No she has the voice of an angel and is literally the most underrated pop vocal singer. The cracks are intentional for 'emotion', you either understand & like her style of singing or you don't - there's no real in between with Sia. When a lot of pop singers try to emulate each other, you instantly know it's a Sia record.... even Rihanna pretty much copied her exact vocals for Diamonds.. Paloma for Warrior (Black & Blue Sia Demo)

the ending gives me shivers

she was sick here too
