With all her health problems and the fact she kinda doesn’t really wanna be as famous now anymore I think they’re doing the best they can. I feel like they’ll start to slowly go full beyonce next era and make her less accessible but have good PR

That's what I've been thinking too... Maybe few huge events, but not as big promo as MR

I'm still waiting for a visual album :giggle:

I think the positive DJWS opinion is pretty popular on GGD. In fact there were many threads where most monsters vocalized their love for DJWS and BASHED Redone. So if anything yall...a positive opinion on Redone is what's "unpopular" :poot:

Ppl who come for DJWS tend to come for his unprofessional behavior...not really his production abilities. People on this site bash Redone's work and even insult him personally left and right even though he is nice, friendly & professional..I find that very rude and mean and I'm not even a stan of his productions. Dont forget that he is a big part of Gaga's legacy and vice versa. No need to hate on him simply because some Monsters have riled you up by associating most of her musical success with Redone's productions. Come for those Monsters instead of bashing Redone himself out of a boiling anger that has been brewing in you for ages lol (p.s this is a comment in general not talking about this thread lol since no one has bashed him here. Everyone is polite here so far).

DJWS isn’t a bad producer, Gaga just needs more leeway to get more electronically eccentric. His Judas remix? The Coachella intro? All *very* original and awesome sounds. I have a feeling his sound gets distilled to make Gaga’s songs have a more EDM-lite pop sound so rarely if ever do we hear the full extent of what he *can* do with Gaga.

I think this is down to two things tbh, the first being she still has a contract with conditions and after ARTPOP’s lackluster performance in the eyes of her other efforts and the fact it was more EDM than pop, I feel like interscope always reserves the right to intervene and say she needs a pop flair in it, the second is I think Gaga  (at least she definitely used to) always has her pop roots and the fan expectations for a new TFM or BTW so she gets in her head and tries to make it more accessible.

Until she puts out a truly experimental track we’ll never know the reactions really but interscope don’t wanna waste money

Oh yeah I’m not poo pooing in Interscope or anything, it’s their investment and she’s known as a pop artist not EDM superstar so I get the trepidation. I’m just saying I don’t think it’s fair to say WS is a bad producer because of it, though, when imo it’s quite the contrary.

Idk if this is unpopular but I think it is essential for an artist to keep changing, which she has done so far don't get me wrong, but I wish she worked with some other people, it's so irritating to me when someone keeps working with the same dam people over and over like.. how is the sound or the visuals supposed to change when the same people are behind it every time...

That being said though, Troy’s management is a lot better than Bobby’s when it comes to being an opportunist because I’m sure with Troy he’d have made her promote The Cure, make a video etc to push for another major hit in her discography. However on the flip side the emphasis is on MAKE her.

i wanted to reply to this point because i agree with the other stuff however Troy is actually a sh*tty manager

i don't think Troy could have pulled off the superbowl like Bobby did and it seems very clear Troy is the type of manager who's like "get a hit or i'm leaving" because of how he treated Meghan too

Bobby has done an incredible job at recovering and securing gaga's career, now he just needs to show us he can calculate a hit because it seems only 78% of ggd users won't respect her current team until there's a number 1 :selena:

-Jonas Akerlund's work for the John Wayne is a nice example of the phrase 'Good concept/bad execution'. It just failed to capture that certain ''Gaga essence' she is known for with her videos, as one member here has implied before. Also the minute I got to the scene with the first chorus I mentally vomited on how cringe worthy the shot looked with that easy of a choreography.

- Whoever styled Gaga for their Coachella gig should be fired. I swear everything that they wore that night looked like something off a H&M rack.

- I quite agree that Laurianne Gibson's work as a choreographer for the Monster Ball 2.0 was outstanding. I wouldn't say iconic, but it gave Gaga and her dancers signature dance routines that met perfectly with sound, pacing, feel, attitude and imagery of the music of The Fame Monster.

- I LOVE Lobster Eye's work as the creative team behind The Halftime Show, Website, and the JWT.  A M A Z I N G. The aesthetics just felt RAW, FRESH, and renewed the Gaga look for 2017- 2018 trends. Especially the interludes at the JWT. I thank the Lord heavens above for their association with Gaga. Just outstanding.

- I don't think that Troy (ugh, why do we still bring him up here) would be successful in making Gaga everywhere in these years if she was still her manager as the dry spell in pop music just will not go away. I think she would just appear foolish to the media really.

Not to mention that Gaga's team back in the day was never as good as revisionist nostalgia claims. We actually NEVER had a smooth single roll-out with Gaga. Just Dance video came one month+ after release, then the second single switcharoo happened, LoveGame and Paparazzi being released simultaneously, Paparazzi video leaking, Bad Romance killing Paparazzi's momentum, the Bad Romance video being delayed for days without an announcment or apology, the Telephone video being delayed for 3 weeks, Alejandro video controvery, Born This Way being released two days early, video being released way too long after single release, Judas video & song controvery, The Edge of Glory video mess & lacking US promo, Gaga promoting the sh*t out of Yoü & I and it only becoming a mediocre hit, Marry The Night flopping.

Gaga crashing really was inevitable, her success totally depended on people eating up everything she did. As soon as people got over their infatuation, they wouldn't let sh*t like this pass. If anything, Gaga's managment has become a lot more streamlined.

Troy is the one that made Gaga overexposed to the general public in the first place ... :tea:

I think that Gaga's current management has done a good job in restoring her name with the general public. Granted, I don't think she'll ever be as popular as she was in 2009-2011, but her level of popularity back then rarely ever happens to anyone PERIOD. There was a time during ARTPOP where I think people in the general public actively expressed how bored and tired they are of Gaga.  I absolutely don't hear that kind of talk anymore.  These days, it's more like "Her pop hits were so fun back in the day!" and "She's such a great singer." It's a big improvement over how things were five years ago, if you ask me.

After listening to the pre-Fame leaks and being reminded of how awesome The Fame truly is as an album, I'm inclined to agree.

I don't care what the Little Monsters say: The Fame is still a great pop album and it has aged very well, in my opinion. I think that it is lyrically and thematically her most cohesive and mature album (especially when paired with The Fame Monster). There was something very self-aware and borderline sardonic with some of the lyrics in the Pre-Fame and Fame eras, which I still find to be utterly fun and charming.  For example, "Vanity" never fails to put a smile on my face.  She was ironically being high-brow by intentionally using low-brow lyrics (which is exactly the kind of thing that Andy Warhol did; the influence is so easy to see).

Plus, The Fame era served my favorite Gaga looks (hence my username).

I get why the Alejandro video was controversial for so many reasons (in fact, I think that video release was the moment where Gaga was just starting to lose the general public). I personally can't stand the video either, but I digress ...

I don't get the controversy about Judas AT ALL.  Like, I get it: "Ohmygod a song called Judas being released during Eastertime!" But seriously?  It's not even a religious song ... Or a song about commentary on religion, either.  The song is very straightforward about how Gaga always goes for the bad guys and the "betrayers" over the good, Christ-like guys.  There is literally nothing else to the song.

Getting mad over Gaga deep-throating a rosary ... That I can understand (I thought it was gross and try-hard, too).  But "Judas"?  Nah.  Completely inoffensive in every which way.  Plus, the music video was friggin' awesome.

I absolutely loved the work that Ronson and Blood did with Gaga. Retains a unique sound, but it sounds clean and textured, without being overbearing.

which brings me to....

Fernando. I know people love his work, but nearly every song ("Blood Mary" and "Heavy Metal Lover" excepted) has at least four more things going on than necessary. Way too busy.
