Don't get me wrong, some of my fav Gaga songs ever are on Joanne, but Golden is so much more...cohesive, i guess? And unforced? I feel like i'm at a backwoods gay bar in Alabama drinking Miller Lite, dancing under the disco ball, and feeling the feels. Some of these songs are her best ever - A Lifetime to Repair, Sincerely Yours, Shelby 68, Raining Glitter, Stop Me From Falling, and of course Dancing which has really grown on me. Slay me country queen. I may come back to this post and retract my insinuation that this is better than Joanne as I am only on L.O.V.E. and still have 6 songs to go...but as it stands...wow. EDIT: Ok not as good as Joanne, the bonus tracks especially throw the album off focus. But overall one of Kylie's best and I stan. I think what makes it more like seemingly "natural" a transition than Joanne i'd say is because of how dance/pop it still is you know what I mean? It has a certain country/rootsy flavoring but ultimately its still very much the dance/pop one would want from a Kylie record. Whereas Joanne kind of throws dance/pop out the window in chunks. ________________________________________________________________________ The albums kind of a bore to me, mostly comprised of songs you'd hear faintly in the background while you shop for groceries at the supermarket. But theres a cute bop or two in there.

gagzus 16,011
Ok without getting attacked I’ve taken a listen and tbh it’s not that good. It’s maybe a 5-6/10 because it sounds dated (it’s basically a 2013 Avicii album ) and most of the upbeat tracks sound the same. Dancing is probably the best song and even that’s a bit... meh sorry
scallywally 626
@Lnds500 It is mostly country but theres about 3 'normal' kylie bops on it.
Wolf Boy 3,260
She was in need of a sound change, but honestly this album is so cheesy and under produced.
Mario Roberto Flores 100
This album does not have a Million Reasons. The only song with single potential is Dancing. The others did not generate me anything at all. For me, it's a setback from Kiss me Once. I don't like it!
HausOfHarlow 383
I have listened to the album a few times through.... My thoughts are: 1. If you play the first 5 seconds of each track, I can count 10 tracks that sound almost similar, featuring the same instrumentation or sound. I wish there were a few less country-twang tracks. 2. I'm very particular when it comes to album length and track length. For example, on Lana' album LFL, it was very off-putting to see White Mustang come in at 2:45 and Cherry right at 3 minutes. I guess in comparison to the fact that most of her songs come in at over 4 minutes. Not that the quality of the song is solely based on its length, but i just prefer tracks with a little more unique progression or more to it. Same goes for Joanne, as so many songs seem so short, especially since Gaga hasn't done such short of songs since The Fame. I feel the standard length of a song is 3:30 - 3:55 (see Katy'e Teenage Dream album for example). Anyways, on Golden, 4 tracks are under the 3 minute mark, 5 are under the 3 1/2 minute mark, and only 2 are over 4 minutes. I wish to see more depth in the songs or different progression than the standard Verse / Chorus / Verse 2 / Chorus / Bridge / Chorus (x1/x2). 3. Rollin' is the only bonus track I think worth mentioning. It would have been better to tack that onto the standard edition right before the end. 4. Highlights on the album for me are A Lifetime to Repair, Sincerely Yours, Live A Little, Raining Glitter, Music's Too Sad Without You (fav track), and Rollin'. Overall I think it's a solid album, I just, again, wish for longer tracks.
Sugarfall 3,723
Her voice really drowns under the loud instrumental in some songs. Other than that I'm happy with it, already better than KMO.
Hades 27,980
I still haven't listened to all the tracks but most of them sound the same. Like if i listen to a snippet i can't recognize which song is. So far Golden/Raining Glitter/Lost Without You are my faves.

DiscoHeaven23 35,007
First listen notes: As a whole, I like this better than Kiss Me Once, but no where close to Aphrodite. The country influence gets a tad annoying, but after track 11, there's no more country influence on the album (12-16 are pure pop) I HATE "Shelby '68" Favorite tracks (in no order): Dancing A Lifetime to Repair Sincerely Yours Raining Glitter Lost Without You Every Little Part of Me

I have actually been to a backwoods gay bar in Alabama drinking a Cosmopolitan, thank you. Lol. If that is what this album sounds like, I lived it and I'll pass but I love the memory you provided me with. 😉 The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw
