brit4ever 2,034
At least Taylor is having a 3rd, 4th and probably even 5th single and dope and cool music videos, unlike........... When was the last time Gaga had 4 singles off one era, 2011? Taylor is doing amazing, let's not pretend she is not the 2nd best selling female album artist this decade, when Gaga is probably barely in the Top 10...... Yes the fame was iconic but in most ways the 1989 era was more successful. it's ok to not be a big fan of Taylor ( because i don't like her either ) but to totally disregard her accomplishments is delusional. please if you want to argue a another point please let it make sense. Reveal hidden contents i'm sorry if i come on to aggressive but arguing points is kinda what i do lol. Political science major in college. Take off your stan glasses, please. I already posted the sales from around the world AND the chart certifications for their respective singles. The sales climate has nothing to do with charting on album charts. The Fame charted in waaaaay more countries than 1989 and even in the countries where 1989 also charted, The Fame had higher peaks. How do you explain that? If Taylor was as big as Gaga worldwide, shouldn't she have been able to at least chart in the same number of territories? I never said 1989 wasn't big, but it did not have the same impact WORLDWIDE, OVERSEAS, INTERNATIONALLY that Gaga's The Fame had. I bet if you asked people from other countries around on here who was bigger during their peak they'd all agree it was Gaga. The fact that you ignore the performances of the singles AND the chart performance of the album is just...

Born This Way was the second best-selling album of 2011 after Adele's 21, yet everyone dragged her for it because "the decline was soooo big". Well, Taylor's decline is the same: The Fame - Born This Way was a decline of around 60 percent (from 15 million to 6 million) 1989 - Reputation is a decline of around 60 percent (from 10 million to 4 million). So if ya'll act like BTW was a decline, why does the tune of your violin change when it comes to Reputation?

Ok, thanks for the unrelated information no one even brought up, denied or wanted, I guess........ My point is, both are successful and I mentioned how while people are calling Taylor flop she is still having 4-5(+) singles from her albums, but both ARTPOP and Joanne had only 2(arguably 3) singles with either bad or unexistend MVs Taylor is in the industry longer than Gaga and is outselling her constantly ever since 2012 and has sold more albums than Gaga overall with 1989 alone selling almost as much as BTW, AP and Joanne combined I just wanted to point out how hyppocratical some people are by calling Taylor/Reputation a flop, when I am 100% sure that if Joanne did the same numbers, had a 400$+ grossing tour and released a reord-breaking #1 song and etc., the same people will claim it The Second Comming of Jeasus.... Taylor is the second most successful female artist after Adele this decade and people will deal

Obviously had Joanne sold 3-4 million WW it would be seen as a huuuuuuge comeback, but the thing is even the press is calling Taylor's album a big decline, because it is a big decline, so no matter how much it sold it dropped HEAVILY in popularity and is actually less successful than every era other than her debut one. I mean, she hasn't had an album drop off the Billboard 200 Top 20 this quick EVER.
