It’s not as if people were expecting Delicate to be a huge single...

It’s pretty late in the album cycle, so I wouldn’t expect anything huge. If it reaches the Top 40 on the Hot 100 at this point, I’d say that’s respectable given the messiness of the era.

The whole era went wrong when she decided to pick Ready For It as the 2nd single and release a boring CGI video way later after the hype, the song went #4 on the first week for Christ's sake.

End Game got screwed with a boring video too, it's like her main problem this era which is being interesting.

But in the end, it's the concept of the album at the first place, and she still sells a lot, 2M pure albums is crazy in 2018

Alright I have literally no opinion of Taylor Swift. Neither positive or negative. So from an outsiders perspective, clearly this album sold well and was big in a sense. From my perspective that largely comes from her hype and her devoted following. At the end of the day despite the big numbers, it seems obvious this was a decline considering her image is less positive than what it used to be. Considering the racial politics in this country, not everyone was going to welcome this oversized white pop star with open arms. And to take it away from the discussion of race, its not like the singles from this album stuck as strongly or as long as the ones from her previous 2 landmark eras. I think its an exaggeration to call Reputation a flop, clearly it wasn't. The lead and Ready for It are present in the day to day, not knowledgeable of their sales and chart positions in comparison to others or herself but as an outsider I feel like theybe both been relevant. However as an outsider it also seems like her reception hasnt been as undeniably and annoyingly positive as 1989 and Red were. I think Reputation was successful ultimately, but simply signals a further decline to come.

It really didn't. Post album singles need to climb the charts, and it has grown every week since it became one. And it's #4 on TTH now. The payola is coming. Radio updates are positive every day. Give it time.

LOL no.

The same happened to her previous single and guess what? It flopped too.

Call It What You Want is a more radio friendly song. More of her style too.

Swift haters gloating. I can’t. That’s why you people can’t be mad when people treat Gaga the same way. What goes around comes around.

Actually.....they can imo.

Because when Taylor Swift or Katy Perry or whoever the person may be gets hate, they're immediately built up by portions of the media. They're not allowed to entirely flop. Even with how hard Witness and its tour bombed, Katy is still built up by publications. No one is reporting on her lack of ticket sales or empty bleachers in arenas as they did with the Born This Way Ball and ARTPOPs sales. Theres a distinct imbalance in the way other artists are hated on vs. Gaga where it counts. Its one thing to see sh*t talking on a forum, but the way it translates to culture at large is what matters and Gaga is the only of the 3 ive mentioned that actually gets affected.

Sorry but Taylor peaked with Red & 1989. I don't respect nor listen to her music anymore since she's cashed in her talent and songwriting for girlie bops and mediocre lyrics. no respect for trends when it comes to art.

only album to sell over 2 million copies in the US in the last two years

Right and this is coming from the same person who thinks the fame was bigger than 1989. 😂
