I wouldn't say someone is not an artist, sure, you don't like them, but there are different types of art. Goldfrapp: this Brit duo fronted by the reluctantly glamorous "mid-life lesbian Alison Goldfrapp are not afraid going from ambient soundscapes to hardcore glam electro to folk and back again. And her vocal range snatches wigs everywhere! Tove Lo: when she sings about doing drugs for everything from having a blast to overcoming heartbreak, when she flshes her tits during concerts and generally doesn't give a .... she gets away with it because she owns her sexuality and is confident enough to use it. She was also a successful songwriter long before she decided to go popstar. Then there's a bunch of lesser known Swedish popsters I like. Zhala: Swedish-Kurdish Zhala turned down a recording deal, tinkered with her song "Slippin' Around' for months to get it right, was disvovered by Robyn who promptly signed her, as the only other artist, to her Konichiwa Records. She's queer and has a voice "like the skies have opened" as Robyn called it. [The bastard child of Lady Gaga and Björk?] Elias: huge voice coming from such a puny, white body! [I just...VOICE!] Ängie: tattoo-addicted, weed-smoking, bisexual trap-pop girl with ADHD and borderline personality. She writes her own material and directs her videos together with a friend. She's only 22 and just released her first EP, but she's bound to go places. Mavrick: ex-footballer with cute little-boy-lost voice who just doesn't seem to go anywhere. [When you can't find the cure] Stockholm Noir: deftly made electropop and completely underrated. They feel a bit clinical, but the talent is definitly there. Going absolutely nowhere.
