But that's basically what Trump is doing Running deficits of 5% of GDP when the economy was doing alright is practically unheard of Sadly, the downside of these policies will probably take place when the Dems take control in 2020.... You don't want to ruin economy or social progress just for the sake of employment. And finding the right balance isn't easy ofc. Trump just broke this equilibrium in order to have very short term results on employment but delayed result on economy and I wouldn't be surprised if it's only to give a positive image of him as a president and give weight to his upcoming candidacy
BlaqJezus 1,027
You realize this is all just propped up economy right? All the measures he has taken to create jobs is basically just making these big business hit a huge growth period where some jobs (not equal to the amount that truly could be created because let's be honest they are keeping a majority of those dollars to themselves) are created. After his term ends and another president is elected, whatever ultimately happens, big business will see their window closing, stocks will drastically drop everywhere, people will be laid off, he could very well be propping Wall Street up for a huge recession with this kind of economic policy making. Fiscal conservation my ass. Just be ready, because honestly it may come before he even leaves office.

That's insane It will supercharge the economy (if his wrekless trade war doesn't ruin it) but interest rates will go up on the bond yields and debt accomulation will be very high When the next recession hits, financial ammo to fight recession will be limited

However, we kind of have him as our president right now so I just hope something at least good will come out of it, despite the bad. Guest
the economic growth has nothing to do with the current trump administration... it takes a lot of time for governmental influence to reflect in job growth ... these results actually show that the economy responded well to obamas administration! sadly the article doesnt interpret these numbers. but hey, we know mr. trump. he'll for sure take credit for these numbers and make his deluded fans believe it too #fakenews

Greece did it I'm happy that more and more European countries are running surpluses... but on the other hand those surpluses only make the trade surplus bigger, and they're already damagingly big. And as for unemployment in the US... I hope more people enter the labor market as a result of low unemployment. Are the secondary labour conditions improving? E.g. making it more difficult to fire employees? That could make the next crisis hit less hard.
