Will we ever have a TRUE LGBT+ movie?

To be honest, I don't really care about that. As long as the movie is good I don't mind if it's LGBT or not. I'm getting a little bit tired of comments like "But there isn't a single LGBT/black/asian character in this film!! We must sabotage it!" every year.

I just want a nice action fantasy movie with a gay lead, with gay romance, that ends happily for the gays. No politics, no '' woe is me am gay '', no AIDS, no Trump, no gay history, no nazis, no SJWs, no feminism, just some good old sword fighting, magic shooting, fire breathing fantasy + GAY.

Will never happen though.

Well, if your only reference for LGBT movies is Brokeback Mountain, sure you must think that LGBT roles are only given to white straight cis actors. But there are so many movies and series made with LGBT actors and directors, it's not even hard to find.

As a big fan of CMBYN (the book and movie), I think it's a pretty decent step forward. It's not "creepy" in any way, and people that say it is reek of not actually knowing the story or characters. I could see it being too slow for some, but I personally enjoyed both mediums of the story very much. We definitely still have work to do, though.

I'm actually kinda over having any kind of romance in movies, doesn't matter if it's heterosexual or homosexual. Just make a movie without a romantic interest for once. It's so boring.

The protagonist always has to get the boy/girl in the end. Yawn. I want to see some independent strong women and men in movies.

I don't get why people need LGBT+ actors to play LGBT+ roles

They're actors

They're paying a role

who they are isn't important

Why do we need an all gay film, our lives arent all gay?? Actors playing gay actors happens all the time. If we complain about the odd straight guy playing gay that narrows down gay actors jobs playing straight (which have very few options). Maybe I dont understand the OP.  Movies include acting, you can act like a tree or a jedi master. Its not reality TV, that would be offensive.

I'm tired of trying to find homosexual media. It's not the only level or thing I connect with to with a character. I can connect with a heterosexual male as much as a gay one.

Thank you! Don't get me wrong, I love that LGBT movies are getting more acceptance in society, but at a lot of times I fail to relate so much because it's so noticeable (at least by my gay experience) that there's something missing in the portrayal. And it's also pretty unfair how there are SO many LGBT actors out there struggling to get a job but they won't get hired, but Hollywood will make millions with our stories.

I try to not think about it much because I can't be bitter all the time but it does bother me. We still have a long way to go.

As long as the subject, topics and portrayals are done accurately and respectfuly I dont see a problem with straight actors playing gay characters. If anything it helps removing certain stigmas. Brokeback Mountain, for examplrle, did a pretty good job of representing what it wanted to do, 2 guys in very hard circumstances, in very closeminded societies and ways of life, finding the truth about themselves and each other. In my book, thats a success for the lgbt.
