Young black kids get to feel like a king and a superhero by seeing this. Not a former bounty hunter slave, not a homeless guy who ends up having superpowers but the king of an entire nation. There aren’t any movies like that with such a budget and such exposure. There just aren’t. This movie is different for black people and you need to trust that they’re making a big deal out of it for that reason. 

You comparing it to any other “big”black movie or big superhero movie shows how little you understand about the importance of representation. The fact that it’s all of those things at once which makes it so important.

no I said it was good, not great.

“It's good, it's great, I can respect that. But it is not the best.”

And then you say that your biggest problem is that it’s overrated. Except people are giving it great reviews for legit reasons. It has a tight script, great performances, a good message, and major cultural impact. There’s some shoddy CGI in a few scenes, but it’s not the worst. 

Maybe it didn’t work for you, but like you admit, it’s a good movie, so it deserves all the praise it’s getting.

I agree that it's overrated, but it's still one of my favorite MCU films. Top 3 for sure.
