Joanne sold less that C2C? oh, well I guess it beat the Xmas album. I thought it would be higher, esp coming from billboard. The girl cant catch a break, Joanne was made for everyone!

Well we will see her smash it with the soundtrack, look at movies like The Bodyguard, Evita, Grease, she might have one of those. :)

I would spit on it if she served awful music like j-bewbz did in the Purpose era.

That's kinda funny considering the album spawned like 3 #1 singles.

Lmao as if a #1 song means it is quality music. Purpose is such trash but thanks to teenage girls it got overplayed af

Id be so disappointed if gaga stooped that low

Better get them Joanne sales up honey

It’s almost as high as ARTPOP and C2C but was released years later, in a time when nobody buys music anymore. (Edit: Also, older people are among the few who still buy albums, and C2C obviously attracted some of that audience with Tony being involved).

ARTPOP’s sales are actually the biggest disappointment on here. I don’t let sales bother me, but that really was such a big fall for her.

Joanne is more successful than C2C and ARTPOP in the U.S.

It's nearing 1.3 million SPS units in the United States. Don't forget the sales decline that gets worse and worse every year.

The fact that Joanne sold 620k being from 2016 and ARTPOP only beat that by 150k being from 2013 shows a great advantage for Joanne. I think if Joanne came out in 2013 it would have sold around 900,000 pure sales.

I'm just saying just because you didn't like the music doesn't mean everyone else didn't :trollga:

C2C was released in 2014 and Joanne was released in 2016.

I mean ofc you know that but just saying.

lmao I hate J Biebs but Purpose did serve quality pop music with great commercial appeal. I honestly don't think Gaga has released a single as good as Sorry since DWUW.

you have awful taste

Because old school is better.

Sure, I prefer those times too. But those numbers are not telling much about Joanne and ARTPOP.

Why not wait for the streams update to release an article.

The decline in album and singles sales throughout years. :toofunny: Idk why are fans arguing about some consistency of hers. At least there are artists like Katy and Rihanna who have managed to improve their stats. For example, Roar is bigger hit than any lead single Gaga has put out so far and that was 5 years into her career. Rihanna's biggest hits - LTWYL and WFL happened more than 5 years since she had debuted. In comparison, it makes Gaga's career look like a bit frontloaded, don't you think?

Since 2011 she hasn't had:

- an album spending more than a single week on the summit of BB200

- a multi-platinum album,

- a solo Grammy,

- a #1 hit,

- a true global hit,

- a 100M$ grossing tour,

- a 70 Metacritic score for albums,

- a #1 on Pop radio (or top 5 on this format).

It may look very harsh, but it's factual.
