Japanese School Under Fire For Uniform Choice

I loved my uniforms when I went to high school. It just made mornings a bit easier. And you can still express yourself with hairstyles or backpacks. In my high school, we had non-uniform days once a month (or more if there are fundraisers).

Unless it's a super rich area, I don't think it's a huge deal. That said, I thought my uniforms were expensive but I remember the shirts being $60 (CAD) each, and pants a bit more. I owned two short sleeves, two long sleeves, and two pairs of pants. They lasted me all 4 years *shrug* The prices are really high in my opinion.

This is absolutely absurd for so many reasons and it's pretty horrendous that any of you agree with it. First of all each of these kids are going to need at least two to three uniforms each because if they only have one they would need to wash it every day which would eventually wear it out. Second of all they would most likely need to replace this amount of uniforms every year because they would grow out of them every year. And lastly how would these children be able to play during recess if they cannot change out of them every time and if they are playing in these uniforms they are likely going to rip and break them often. These reasons in addition to many more that can be thought of prove that this is not a good idea for schools to take on.
