But it's a calculated decision, because she does't want and she doesn't need to promote them, like Gaga did with PI. Is the Era a flop? Absolutely not. The album is still selling very well, the tour is likely going to gross +450M $$$, so she is doing just fine. She is so close to her fans. She's always having listening parties or giving gifts, help and advice. Being relatable and all that. She also writes her own music that almost anyone can digest. She also spans two huge genres, pop and country. No surprise why she has a huge fanbase. The reputation era was the first one where she didn't 'try' and yet she still smashed tbh The relationship she has with her fans is very similar to Gaga actually. Very close and personal. The only Joanne single that outsold her single's was Million Reasons and with huge SuperBowl push. Taylor has a #1 single with this album: Look what you made me do, which also gave her the new vevo record for more views in the first 24h. LWYMMD had HUGE cultural impact. I think this era is hardly a flop for her. I just think that she, like Gaga and Beyoncé is trying to become more of a album artist and touring beast than a hitmaker. We all dress up in costumes and party hard on the streets. You should see how many people there were in the streets dressed as Taylor in LWYMMD.
