DiscoHeaven23 35,007
I found some old Billboard Magazines with their year-end charts. So here's the queens of each year from 1977 to 1987. However, I could not find 1978 and 1983. This is based on singles and albums. 1977 #01-#05 1. Linda Ronstadt 2. Donna Summer 3. Thelma Houston 4. Rita Coolidge 5. Barbra Streisand 1979 #01-#05 1. Donna Summer 2. Anne Murray 3. Olivia Newton-Jon 4. Barbra Streisand 5. Gloria Gaynor 1980 #01-#05 1. Donna Summer 2. Pat Benatar 3. Dionne Warwick 4. Anne Murray 5. Linda Ronstadt 1981 #01-#05 1. Pat Benatar 2. Kim Carnes 3. Barbra Streisand 4. Diana Ross 5. Juice Newton 1982 #01-#05 1. Olivia Newton-John 2. Juice Newton 3. Diana Ross 4. Stevie Nicks 5. Pat Penatar 1984 #01-#05 1. Cyndi Lauper 2. Madonna 3. Tina Turner 4. Linda Ronstadt 5. Laura Branigan 1985 #01-#05 1. Madonna 2. Tina Turner 3. Whitney Houston 4. Sade 5. Cyndi Lauper 1986 #01-#05 1. Whitney Houston 2. Like Beyonce isn't considered "beyonce" for Destiny's Child And Stevie's solo career wasn't on par with the ladies listed. Total, she only had 4 Top 10 hits as a solo act (and never got a song in the Top 2)

To both of you, i made a critical error. After you mentioned Stevie Nicks, I went back and double checked all of the charts and she was actually #4 in 1982. My apologies

"Leather and Lace" (peak: #6), Edge of Seventeen (peak: #11) and "After Glitter Fades" (peak: #32)fell within this time frame. This helped the album sell well throughout 1982, making it the 8th best selling album of 1982 and the best selling album by a female. If her songs had charted higher, she could've been on top. Olivia Newton John was IMPOSSIBLE to beat that year, though, because "Physical" was the #1 song of 1982 and her album (while below Stevie's) was still the #15 album of the year.
