How I first heard Born This Way

Hey Guys,

Today I want to share the Story of how I listened to Born This Way for the very first time.

I was in 5th or 6th Grade and we Gaga was quite popular. Everyone LOVED Bad Romance, Alejandro, Telephone and Monster. It was a friday of course, and they were having a Radio Premiere at 11:00am or 12:00 (I don't quite remember). We had English Class and I asked my Teacher if I could go to our group space room, in order to listen to the Song. She was quite sceptic but said 'Sure' in the end. So, while I was waiting for the clock to strike 11:00/12:00, suddenly, ALL of my class joins the room and we all sit around this cassette player. We listened to the whole Song and some even sang along at the end. After School ended and I was home, I listened to the Song on repeat. My Dad bought me the Single CD and it was the first Song I purchased via iTunes.

Also interesting, after that each Student would have to bring a Song with lyrics into Class and we'd translate it and talk about it. My turn was end of may, so I had The Edge of Glory with me and in the end, we were all singing in a choir to the Song and everyone really loved it.

The whole Born This Way Era is filled with so many memories. It was the first time I visited GagaDaily and the first Era is REALLY experienced in a full (since during most of TFM, I wasn't allowed to visit many Websites). I can honestly say, that ever since (and I am getting a bit nostalgic now), staying up for Awardshows, buying Albums as soon as they come out and so much more, has become a norm and I am so happy about the way it is.

FATCAT

I remember waking up at like 6 am to check and see if it had been released yet, couldn't stay up because of school, and she had posted a YT video with the audio on her twitter

I was beyond shook. So much nostalgia.

Didymus

Remember being able to read the lyrics beforehand on her website? :cryga: I got up earlier to make sure I could listen to it on my iPod biking to school, and boy was I impressed. It still sounds one of a kind because of that production. Love the "noisy" quality about it and the overload of backing vocals :diane: Really impressive and daring pop release imo.

I remember waiting for the countdown to finish at ladygaga.com

A few weeks later I was crying in my room (sad young gay life n stuff) and suddenly PANG. My radio went like this: Speacial message from Gaga (dunno what she said anymore, but it was something like: I love you and this radio station) and then Born This Way started playing! <3 It cheered me up

Yeah I remember waiting for the countdown to end, and I remember listening to it like "Hey, this kinda sounds like Express Yourself" not at all thinking that would become a thing and then it became an unnecessary thing :smh:

Mirages

I love the story! Mine was similar. I was in highschool back then and I remember I woke up at like 5 am to see if they had already put the song on Gaga's official website. And it wasn't there, I kept refreshing like crazy, cause I was supposed to go to the gym with my older sister at 6 am. They finally put it up at 6 am I listened to it in a haste, was shooketh obviously, but sad cause I had to go to the gym and couldn't listen to it on repeat on Gaga's website. But the when we were in the car our local station said they would play it every single hour, so when I was in the gym I turned on the radio and kept listening until they played it, then I had to go to school and we weren't allowed to have our phones on us in school but I was like fvck it Imma be listening on the radio I don't care and so I did! I kept listening every single hour even in school until the principle took away my phone in the hallway. Little did he know I had another phone :stalkga: so I kept listening to the radio until the end of the school day anyways :cryga: And then when I came to the principle's office she said she had to call my sister because they have confiscated my phone three times already, so she called her and my sister was like so what, he just listened to the radio, they're premiering the new Lady Gaga song, I'm listening to it all day at work. Principal was rendered speechless.mp3

I also remember the day Judas leaked was the first day I came on GGD, they let us go home early from school, I can't remeber as to why, anyways I found GGD and the article about Judas.

I was a little disappointed too, but the artwork slayed me and it sounded like Bad Romance^2, the song isn't bad, it's actually such a bop I love it now it's just an odd choice for a single.

Then I remember watching all those gagavisions for snippets that hyped me up so much my hip broke and also remember I started playing Farmville just so I could listen to Marry The Night cause the title already sounded legendary. I was not disappointed!:firega:

I remember when she put of TEOG and Hair as promotional singles and then changing TEOG to an actual single. At that pointed I was so scalped :tony:

Then I started lurking on GGD (haven't made an account until last year :ladyhaha:) and remember being apart of that whole the truth is in her red lipstick debacle. My first meltdown and I wasn't even signed up.:laughga:

I'm the bitch that's fragile

yes i was at home at night and i have school the next day and this played

waiting for 15+ mins and each song they play makes false alarm, and omg i realised "nothing on but the radio" is inside :O

And when you say my name, like white horses on the waves, I think it feels the same, as an ocean in my veins.

I actually pretended I was sick so I didn't have to go to school and then I heard this as well. I was slayed before the official song even began. :diane:
