Honestly, first time I saw this I didn't think it was live cause every single note is on point.

so underrated

OMG I just re-watched this performance after a few months and I'm totally SHOOK how underrated it was in my eyes and ears

When other artists will do like this Queen?  They all can hide in their basements tbh :madge:

Head Empty

Million Reasons and Lush Life at Howard Stern come close too.

Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye at Jimmy Fallon too, but in a less obvious way.

It’s a strong vocal performance, but there are several others that are stronger.

In terms of sheer power of her voice I think Bang Bang is the best song to show it. Yeah there’s a vid where she pulls the mic away which is a neat trick and you can still hear her, but without the hijinks I think this one kills it (I think the other works well in a live setting, though). You can do obviously tell she doesn’t need a mic here but hearing her with it you get how rich and powerful her voice is which is funny given how otherwise relatively quiet her speaking voice is. So I love this one a lot.

Everytime we Say Goodbye also ranks imo because it’s soft power. She’s not full blast, but you hear how rich and full her voice is in the lower register is in that song PLUS she takes it to her higher one which brandishes some of her skill. They really chose an incredible selection of songs for Cheek to Cheek and it’s obvious it wasn’t arbitrary.

Some say La Vie En Rose is one of her best, but I think she oversings it in nearly every performance and her intonation is a little weird. Minus the recorded one from Tony’s birthday, I never really liked her cover. It felt like too brash an arrangement for the song, and she kind of hammed it up at times.

this performance is so overrated, I don't get it. The effect on her mic is so distracting as well

This one also has to at least be top 10.

She sang it better several times than this date :)
