I'd rather have self-respect and talent than be a million/billionaire. ( //ಠ// ͜ʖ //ಠ//)

Britney seems to be the one thoroughly enjoying her life as a million/billionaire.

Oh, thanks, when I first read it I tought it was so random, picking a city with the size of a London neighborhood and skipping cities like Liverpool, Amsterdam and etc., but now when you wrote this it doesn't seem so outrageous. It will probably sell out within few days after sales are open. How big of a venue is that ballroom she's performing?

I still find her going to Scarborough strange though, now that's random in my oppinion. :poot:

Yeah, it is pretty random when it only has 142,000 people. But its reputation is why she's going. Just like Vegas, a lot of Britons got to Blackpool to see a show and get entertained. It has its famous Pleasure Beach in warm weather, several piers, a huge water park, a zoo, a huge funfair, tons of arcades (not quite as big as deal as casinos, though!), many ballrooms, theatres, gay bars, drag shows, tribute act shows, the occasional festival and the last surviving first generation tramline in the country which you can still ride on. I'm actually surprised Gaga didn't do a date in one of its theatres when she toured with C2C because it would've been the perfect setting, considering that's the kind of entertainment Blackpool was originally known for. It's considered a tacky place by many but its reputation speaks for itself and it's still one of the biggest tourist destinations in Britain, with over 10 million yearly visitors to the beach alone. I went there once as a kid and remember thinking it looked like the pictures I'd seen of Vegas.

The ballroom is huge but still not the size of an arena and it will be in theatre format:

Meaning that attendance will be similar to a single date of one of her Vegas residencies. The ballroom is super famous and exclusive, though as only the best of the best perform there, as I said, people come from all over for the world championships (J Lo even mentions it in the movie, Shall We Dance?) and for one episode of Strictly Come Dancing (our version of Dancing With The Stars), the contestants perform in the ballroom, which has a sprung floor, making their dancing a different experience and is such a vast space that backing dancers and props have to be brought in. So, it's a big deal to go there and I've certainly never known a singer to perform there, though it would be possible. Tickets might be more expensive considering its exclusive nature, though.

As for Scarborough, it also is a big tourist destination and its Open Air Theatre has been a popular destination for British acts. Because it's a theatre size but open air, it was probably deemed similar to the kind of venue Britney's been performing in as of late. I think there was trepidation concerning how many big arenas she could sell out here, so her team is maybe playing it a bit safe by doing venues like this.

It baffles me this tour.. she’s playing my home town Scarborough in the UK, a rural coastal town in the middle of the country side with a population of about 25,000 retired old people :selena: And now she’s doing Blackpool?! These are the kinds of places that semi retired artists like ELO or Cliff Richard go to :toofunny:

But she has also three back to back sold out shows in London in The O2 and a sold out show in Manchester, it's not like she can't sell, I think her team went for some smaller venues, so they can enssure interest in her for The World Tour for B10, or something like that.
