androiduser 7,438
Diamond Heart - it's a serious, melodic song with great lyrics, not pretentious, not preachy, but serious enough A-YO - with a killer video, and good promo it could have been really big Not Dancin' In Cricles, it's a dated sounding fan favorite
popfart 718
A-YO or John Wayne for me, the intro for John Wayne would of shook us all after not hearing new material since ARTPOP. Then Million Reasons for second single, then Dancin' In Circles for third, then Joanne (WDYTYG?) for closure of the era as it stands today.
FreeAsMyHair13 379
100% should've been A-Yo. It would've perfectly represented the country-esque sound of the album/era in a radio friendly way. ..Or John Wayne
GypsyBabe 22,836
If handled correctly, then A-Yo... I feel like that could have been a massive hit if it had a great video BUT, it also is a risk sonically, so it could have flopped just as massively. I really like Perfect Illusion though, so I like it as the lead. ⚯͛

Benji 20,113
Throw Sean Paul on DIC and it would have been a hit but I'm glad we weren't subjected to that.
mamo 19,091
DIAMOND HEART IS THE ONLY LEAD-SINGLE IMO. My reason being is that it would have given the era a more stripped/mature introduction. The song is perfect as it talks about the trials and tribulations of what gaga had to do in order to get to where she is - the pain, struggle, hustle, success. Also it sounds like nothing on the radio and it would have probably made more of an impact than our good sis perfect illusion (no shade intended). My choice: 1st single - Diamond Heart 2nd - Millions Reasons 3rd - John Wayne/Dancin' In Circles (Apple Music Release) *The Cure - Coachella release* Final single - Joanne Ï could be your girlfriend for the weekend...
