There is your hate. You are welcome That was a reach. I just don't believe Gaga would like us to drag artists. And yes, we can say why we enjoy or didn't enjoy the performance but to put "get her jade" memes just doesn't do a whole lot for the conversation. Anyways, I really didn't think it was that terrible of a performance. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I'm not going to try and find everything I can to tear him down. B- What is wrong with kids that go to public school? C- Some of the smartest people in the world went to public school! D- Bringing up the fact that someone went to public school or shading them for it still does not change the fact that you have no point. I went to public school. But anyways, I just think we are posting these things to make fun of, or try and find more reasons to drag him. I think it's pointless to do so but if you want to spend time doing that, then go ahead.
Deepbreath 128
I tried to understand this part: His songs were almost to a one from his heyday, including the strikingly strange choice of “Cry Me a River.” (If there’s any song out of touch with the national mood, isn’t it the one about how a sexual liberated woman in general, and the currently resurgent Britney Spears in particular, is an unspeakable villain?)" but i don’t get it.....and Britney is a fave of mine

Why do we not drag her for it if we drag Justin for it? Whenever Gaga has appropriated something, it really wasn't appropriation because she generally tries to get approval from the original owner, is overwhelmingly generous (even in album credits) at giving credit where it is due, and she knows EXACTLY and understands EXACTLY from an educated pinpoint what, who, how, and why she is referencing something. And then she ****ing talks about why understanding and supporting and respecting the disenfranchised is important. HER ENTIRE IMAGE is about borrowing but asking first and respectfully doing it. IE: when Gaga wanted to make a song like DWUW, she called up R. Kelly (the king of r&b ) for approval. IE: when Gaga wanted to make an album referencing gay rights alot, she made sure to get her ass out on the white house lawn and scream at obama to pass gay marriage. IE: when Gaga wanted to borrow things from other artists, she asks to actually sit down with them and understand her so she can understand them (Koons, Ambramovich, Elton) The point is that JT NEVER does that. And his entire career has been an attempt at being "The Prince of Pop" by way of emulating Mj, Prince, and other mostly black acts. Not only has he dodged giving them credit, but he's accepted the praise for his "originality", the money, the awards. And even furthermore....embarrassed a woman of color in front of the world and never made ammends. Why? Oh...because he's JT....it was just an accident. People should understand that. Right? But that's unfair in a world where Justin Timberlake doesn't even have to think about the fact that, if he were a black kid and had done that to say...Britney....the world would have hated him. There would have been no "oh it was just an accident". The fact that he is ignorant to that despite the fact that the community he has betrayed has practically been the foundation for him to have a career while simultaneously playing the innocent "all american white kid/guy next door" is him double dipping in the cultural money pot. And he STILL CHOOSES to IGNORE IT so CASUALLY.

Sure you can critique people, but do it with some decency.

IDK, I just feel like it's been so much JT hate lately and we will eventually jump to another artist to hate. It went from Katy to Taylor to JT to whoever is next. I just wish it wasn't like that. Why it actually related to women's rights and gave it an actual intimate meaning other than "Oh I thought it looked cool doof doof" The dreads....idk man....white Vikings had dreads. lol. but in all seriousness....those dreads were strange and white and weren't trying to perpetuate a certain image the black community already created. She put a genuine original spin on something....and didn't do it offensively. Tbh...she is kind of teflon in alot of these categories because people already know Gaga is not prejudice and fights against it in ALL forms so she could pretty much borrow from anyone and they would just think it's some artistic message...not her trying to become some other race or like some other stereotype of a race. I just don't get most of it - a lot of people have this same defense for liberal white women (well they aren't prejudice so it must be ok if they do it). Idk, the things on this site just boggle my head sometimes. I'm not trying to say JT is some God but damn - it's just rough to read thread after thread attacking him. I guess.
