Ronson, who’s admittedly no one-take wonder, likes to work privately, but documentary cameras captured his collaboration with Lady Gaga for “Joanne,” her most personal album to date.

‘I would say something like, ‘What do you wanna do on this record?’ — just getting her to be honest, because she’s so smart, she can write about anything,” says Ronson.

“She can do so many things, I was like, ‘Let’s just write like what you’re feeling right now, and she would say, ‘Wow, nobody’s ever asked me that,'” he says. “I’d be, like, just blown away that, after three albums, one of the biggest pop stars in the world, no other producer that I had known of sat and just said, ‘What do you want to write about?'”

i think she meant that a producer never said that to her but she probably wrote what she thought about on her own without being asked

Gaga always said that she wanted to do something but the producers or label would tell her to do it in a different way and she would just take that and put her own crazy spin on it, so that both parties were satisfied.

I think we've all been knew, but I don't think any of us wanted to admit to ourselves that she didn't actually wanna do anything she did all those years ago. Even when talking about the iconic VMA performance in 2009, she said she only put in the blood stunt because she'd just be being sexy otherwise.

this seems odd to me because for almost the entirety of her career she has stood up for making songs about things that SHE wants to speak on. so i don't really understand the whole "wow she's never written a song about what SHE wants to talk about!!!1' because that's completely untrue

is it that hard for people to understand that she means a producer asking her about writing what she wants and not just writing what she wanted without being asked (TFM, BTW, ARTPOP, etc.)
