wait she lost??. I was like 100000000000% sure she will win cause the album is that good.

How can she lose man. Her album is no doubt the best of this decade (sorry Born this way u r right after that).

Now this is what I call discrimination towards this women. First Ed-She ran and then Bruno.

Did grammy hire teenagers for voting?

I cant handle grammy anymore..

Sure Lorde might take the themes in a slightly different direction, but it's nothing special. Feelings after love, whether by a partner or friends, is relatable yeah, but tired and boring. It's also basic

I think that’s what makes it special, it’s something that everyone can relate to. I can say for sure that Kendrick’s album was not geared towards everyone, especially not me (gay white boy). Maybe for those reasons I didn’t connect with it. I just felt that Lorde stepped up her game from her first album and did something none of the other artists did....make me a fan.

True, I can get how it's special to a lot of people. For sure if I was going through a breakup or something I could definitely see myself bawling my eyes out Melodrama. You don't have to connect with an album on religious level (or even barely) to see it's merits though.

If we're basing aoty on how you've connected to an album personally, it becomes real subjective and biased eh? It's impossible to guess how universal an album's themes are going to be. Eg, you thought melodrama was super relateable, I'm old and bitter so I thought the themes were dumb (I enjoyed the music though)

Off topic, and not to **** on you or anyone else, but being a white gay doesn't preclude you from understanding race politics, especially considering the history of oppression and violence against the gay community. Or at least I assume so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
