She's going to literally release every song as a single in the space of a year :selena:

Michael Jackson with his albums

I think one of his albums has 10 out of 11 songs as singles :rip:

No I've been wondering that to. I honestly think it's lack of promotion :madge:

End Game had Ed Sheeran and that should be enough for it to smash. Besides, Bruno has yet to perform Finesse and it's currently Top 5. Same with Cardi B.'s latest feature.

Honestly, for someone like Taylor and following a huge era like 1989, lack of promo is no excuse...

No. It's 7 out of 9 (Thriller).

I understand she wants a hit but I don't think that's gonna happen with this album and that's ok. This era is definitely messy.

Gorgeous is still on her Spotify and Apple Music charts after all this time, I think. The song isn't amazing, but it will definitely chart, kind of like LWYMMD was annoying, but still charted. It's a smart move, I think. However, IDSB and Delicate are close to it on Apple Music and are better songs. Overall, I think it's a good choice.

Between this and apparently I Did Something Bad being listed on Dutch radio and New Years Day rumoured to be one of the singles in late 2017, her fans won't know what's going on. The lack of uncertainty has really been getting to them this era. I miss the days when you genuinely didn't know what single was going to be next, but now there's multiple ways of guessing, especially if a song was released as promo and did surprisingly well. I don't see this smashing at all. It was a big deal in America for about a week when it was a promo single, but died away after that. RFI had big initial interest too and look how that turned out.

Am I the only who's going to ask:

Why did Ready For It do so poorly?

Why did End Game not smash?

Why aren't any singles from Reputation smashing? :laughga:

I've been asking myself the same questions. But it's hardly surprising. As soon as I heard this album I knew it would have trouble garnering future hits. This is the first album she's released where barely any of the songs are hit single material. Not saying they're bad (this is actually the first album of hers that I've liked), they're just not going to set the charts on fire. I believe that LWYMMD was only a hit purely because it was the lead single and fed off her recent drama. Had it been released at any other point, I don't think it would have come close to smashing, it was too weird and campy. I see I Did Something Bad having the same fate as both songs are similar. Don't Blame Me is awesome but it's too downbeat and un-Taylorlike to smash. Delicate is too bland and forgettable. So It Goes... is good but not Taylorlike enough. Gorgeous is just so twee and sounds like a 1989 outtake. Getaway Car is just not one for the public. King of my Heart is too cheesy for the public. Dancing with our Hands Tied is too bland and forgettable. Dress is good but a bit too raunchy for the likes of Taylor to have be successful. This is why we can't have Nice Things is awful and not meant for radio. Call It What You Want didn't take off even with the lyric video. New Years Day didn't take off despite promo and is just for the fans. Basically, this album is more one for the fans and not as mainstream and commercial as 1989. I don't see it having any more hits.

Ready For It contained rapping and current electronic sounds, so I was shocked when it didn't do well. I stand by my belief that Camila releasing Havana's music video just 2 days prior totally killed its momentum and meant that Havana was the most talked about female song of the moment and what lousy luck, that week just so happened to be the week Taylor's album came out. The timing would normally have been perfect but alas, there is always a dark horse that can spring up. End Game, with features from 2 young, relevant, successful males, was her ultimate saving grace if the going got really tough. I'm just shocked that her team have decided to play it so early. The fact they have suggests that they are worried sick that the rest of this era is going to be a flop for her, singles-wise, especially if she has all these stadiums to sell out. But, shock horror, End Game's flopping even harder than RFI. If even Ed and Future can't save her at this point, the rest of this era is a write off. She has more than enough money to keep it going, but wow, she's going to have to step up her game next time if she doesn't want to fade away, particularly as she's almost 30, the age where female popstars start getting dropped from radio. LWYMMD didn't even get nominated for Grammys and recently, all her lead singles have done that. If she can't even get the Grammys on her side, well...

The song gets some spins on the Dutch radio, because the other singles were too bad, but they still wants to spin TayTay. :triggered:

I Did Something Bad is the only non-single from reputation that managed to chart inside the Bubbling Under the Hot 100. Sis wyd :laughga:.
