Pop music is over. Only rap/hiphop is popular with streaming services because people just stream playlists currated by the site so they can vibe to it, without hardly knowing who theyre listening to. Pop seems To be heading towards a more adult audience, hemce why gaga has managed to stay relevant.

Indie rock is already getting more popular.  Most of the songs I hear in malls has this indie sound.

Anyways the change of those trends is vague. Since 2015 we can say there were trop-pop, dancehall, trap, acoustic pop.

Can name some songs of that genre please?

something less sad and more about partying/dancing/sex again. :lolly: Music is 90% about hard relationships and money right now and I'm ****ing over it! :saladga:

Where's the ****ing vodka, bitch? Where are songs about my friends getting shmammmered with the hot guy I already badoinked last summer. :hor:

I just need some music that isn't so serious alll the time. Maybe a little party era going into 2019/2020. :queenga:

Like....I feel like eeeevvvvveeerrryyyyone on the radio right now is trying to be so "chill" and "cool" that they aren't even ****ing living or representing how MOST of us really feel in our day to day lives. When what we really need is artists WHO DON'T CARE IF THEY ARE COOL OR NOT....which in turn makes them ACTUALLY NOT TRY HARD COOL. Like we need something that makes you feel good but also relates to us, the underdogs, the "normal people".Like...trash meets class. That kinda "I'm drinking tanqueray in my Honda Accord/ Drinking four lokos in my Lambo" kinda aesthetic yes ma'am :fthis:

WHERE'S THE JAGER? The trashy hot guys? The dumb blondes that wanna be scientists and the rebel freaks with some vengefulness against the zeitgeist? Where are the rich kids with feelings and the poor kids that don't give a ****? I NEED IRONY AND HUMOR AGAIN PEOPLE. :icega:The radio is so thick now. Ugh

I don't want songs about how your heart was broken or you've got bands of money. :what:I wanna hear songs about how you blew your money on your ex and now youre gonna go blow up his car with fireworks. Or a song about how the **** was too big, so you schedule an apointment with a doctor, and surprise, the guy that wrecked your butt IS the doctor. Or a song about passing out on the dancefloor and your friends "weekend at Bernies style" crowd surfing you to the curb. Or a song about your friends screaming profanities at the police on the beach and seducing the officer so you get out of trouble. Songs like that are fun! :firega:

The trend that came after the JB/CS sound is trap/mumblerap, actually.

The new one is coming with LG6 lead (hopefully) :trollga:

You're actually, so right.

It's taken me a long time to kind of realise that, but you just hit the nail on the head. :triggered:

I know. Its also the reason why katy did not do so well and why taylors singles are not performing as well. They market to the younger audience, so they get decent streams but not enough to overtake the big hiphop artists. So they fade away and adults are not interested. It also explains why despacito and shape of you were so huge, they hit both markets at the same time
