I'm really starting to believe there's something wrong with Youtube and Gaga

+ I'm really not a fan of conspiracy theories but this is too much :

Both released 25/01/18

Justin Timberlake : Say Something - 5 410 946 views - 156 000 likes

Lady Gaga : Joanne - 2 045 953 views - 172 000 likes

I mean.... come on ! There's 100% something wrong here.

JT has double of views and even less likes. This is huge !!!

No one really knows how views work but we know that a like is someone going and liking the video

As you can't cheat on likes, either way, every artist has their views inflated OR Gaga's views are somehow not all counted....

I know Katy is huge on Youtube but how come 58 million for Hey Hey Hey in a month and 28 million for John Wayne in a year (literally released 1 WEEK AFTER SUPER BOWL AKA GAGA's RECENT BIGGEST PEAK) - the apple music exclusive is not a viable excuse, I understand it lowers a little but no way it impacted the views that much

I just can't buy it ...

Gaga is sadly not that popular on any streaming platforms as of lately. There’s imo nothing more to it.

People will come up with „Katy is buying the views” excuse but tbh I don’t believe it, she’s miles above, somehow. Also on Spotify her singles are doing much much better than Gaga’s, is she buying streams there too? She’s just having a different strategy or a better team, she’s clearly putting much more money into Spotify and YouTube.

As of now I have no idea what’s the deal with Timberlake’s YouTube stats for his most recent song in comparison with Gaga’s apart from the fact he’s getting more views and I believe he really is, mostly bc his team, like Katy’s, is doing playlists payola, like he’s in a lot of times under suggested videos and stuff.

It seems that Spotify has some issues.

I mean Joanne Piano version didn't update until this morning for yesterday midday, and now we don't have today's midday

Yeah that's probably that ...

But there IS something wrong in the only fact that I've never got to see the Joanne thumbnail anywhere.
Like my Youtube homepage literally spams me anytime there's a new pop release... but I never got 'warned' by Joanne coming out. I got to search for it myself... That's a problem knowing she's one of the few people I'm subscribed to on Youtube etc...

Guys I really want that single to become one of Gaga's biggest success like ...

The most frustrating is that this really has a huge potential

The video is really all about the Joanne era and what it was meant to be since the beginning.
Since 2016, she says it's an album about healing

In the video you see Joanne (70's colourful video) living her happy life.
Then Gaga in black&white representing the mourn of her family.
She writes the album to heal.
And lets Joanne go where she's supposed to (running scenes)

Then Gaga and her family can also move on (family scene at the bar - dancing, playing...-)

They had to create something for Joanne as she was an artist, and in this case they made her recognised trough the world thanks to Gaga

Thanks to creativity and music, they healed.

Now Gaga can move on from this Joanne era.

honestly, you have to think which is more likely to get replayed by casual music listeners

a slow ballad about death and healing or a standard pop song?

plus JT is promoting an album, gaga basically released this for fun as well as tiny final promo which will be done at the grammys

after that it's goodbye joanne

I think that the album version can be eaten up by the GP, it's a cute song that stays in your head for the rest of the day...

I don't think being about death / being emotional prevents from being a hit.
Here everyone make it seem like a song has to be a 'bop' to encounter success when it's especially this that made people tired of Gaga ...

nor do i, but a lot of JT's views could just be people causally listening to music is what i mean because it's easier to digest and/or have on in the background/at parties

If The Cure was not „eaten up” then not a single song from Joanne stands a chance.

The song is already outside top 30 and there are more than 24 hours to go for her performance so when it's outside top 50 and eventually starts nearing the 100 position let's not meltdown too hard. Kthnx.

It may sounds strange but for me The Cure is more vowed to fail than a song like Joanne

Gaga is liked for making her own style of music, when The Cure could've been pulled off by any artist-who-I-don't-even-know-the-name ...

All this tropical-house movement is songs that we all know the beat drop but no one can say either the title of the song nor the artist. They're the songs that always come up on radios and nightclubs and my friends and I always dance/know the beat drop but we're all INCAPABLE of saying the title of the song.

When you think about it, the 'big artists' who are still successful don't make that kind of music and they stick with their identity (evolving of course)  - Adele, Rihanna, Ed...

So I got what you meant but I think that The Cure is a bad example

even if it drops to like #70, it'll rocket to #5 or something just from the exposure. thats the plus of iTunes being less busy, takes less to rise lol

I was hoping the video would just be a nice icing for SPS for the album. but considering its views....... not quite sure it'll make much of a difference :rip:

Kesha doesn't deserve pop album. It hasn't even outsold Joanne's first week yet :rip: The album was a non event. Praying will probably win pop solo tho
