First, a few mainstream artists release songs with genres that are not popular anymore and then everyone starts doing it. this Happened in 2008, 2009 and 2010, it first started with a few artists making and releasing electro-pop songs and then Gaga and black-eyed peas made electro-pop the new popular genre, it happened in 2015 with JB again... and I think its starting to happen again. Meghan will release a song with disco vibes, Katy did it too in 2017, Calvin just released a song with dua, even the flop ones making disco songs(carly) and I bet that more artists that I haven't heard of have released more disco/pop/etc songs.
