It kind of was, not a smash hit but certainly a cute top 10 that got played on the radio quite often. Maybe it's also that their demographic is a streaming one or something idk But what's with this generation of British Artists absolutely failingbto chart in the US, because for example anywhere by Rita Ora was very big in Europe and didn't even enter the hot 100 if I'm not wrong. Gaga on the other hand exploded to stardom at around 2009 and has been consistently releasing music almost every 2 years (though some releases were not trendy music like C2C)...she really should be competing with her contemporaries who did not have to face adversities and a lack of music releases like Kesha. There's nothing to defend about Gaga's current streaming numbers BUT that isnt to say she can't fix it and I have high faith and hope that she will. All it takes is a bit of a more "current" sound and a proper streaming strategy and our girl should be back on track! About fan activity and this fan base not caring as much as they once did. You got to remember Taylor just came back from one of the biggest pop eras in recent memory with 1989. She also amassed a large young following and a loyal purchasing base that comes from her country days. This is why Taylor is slaying both in sales and streaming (though this era has seen a dip in her popularity which is normal for all artists, especially one coming back from a lot of negative media attention). Where as Gaga's fan base has expanded to different types of crowds. Ppl at the Joanne Tour mentioned how shocked they were by the ammount of middle ages women and elderly ppl there were at the shows! This is great for her sales figures hence why her albums like Joanne have sold amazingly well in pure sales! But it indicates she is missing that key demographic of young teens. Most of the fans that were teens with her back in the day have also grown up a little more and are less engaging since their time is much more limited then the young teens and kids of other popstar fan bases.
