Been silently reading some posts here and I think the comments of concern are valid. No matter the fact that this is an old song and a ballad she should still be able to pull in more than 1.3M views in 24 hours. Come on now. This is a little concerning since streaming is only growing yet she is pulling in numbers ppl were doing back in like 2010 & live performances get or something. Also it is not like PI, MR or JW did THAT much better. PI did a little over 6M despite being a lead single from Gaga and both JW and MR did like 2.5M. This isnt good. LG6 being more radio friendly / streaming friendly also does not secure or guarantee streaming success. It is hard to build a stable streaming audience and support. It takes a row of streaming hits before ppl care enough to watch your mvs en mass in their first week of release. The LG6 era in general needs to be strong in terms of it's payola, visuals, mv game and playlist game. The Joanne era might have healed Gaga's polarizing public image with the GP in the US but the LG6 era needs to be focused on building her up as a bit of a commercial force. Whether we like to admit it or not every artist requires MUSICAL relevance and I am not talking about touring power (which she has on lock)...she needs her actual music to be more consumed by the public just to secure a few more years of continued general success. Let's hope and be positive though that the LG6 era will be one that heals her streaming issue. Sales wise she is still holding up but as sales keep falling and streams keep growing the focus from her team needs to shift. The fact that they only learned of the importance of playlists on spotify with TC is EXTREMELY concerning BUT better late than never right? There is still hope. It will just be a bit of a difficult "battle".

You’re talking to people that consider a song that went #4 after havin 160M people watch it and then free fall off the charts a “smash hit.”

IMO she’s gonna have a tougher time selling out arenas on her next tour because she won’t have the SB promo so her team better start figuring out what they’re gonna do.

Or maybe she just doesn't care? She released Joanne in a time when streaming was at the forefront, when garnering a young audience and appealing to the streaming generation was more important than ever. Yet she did the opposite.

Let's be real, Gaga has a large built-in fanbase that as long as she fuses some sort of "pop" into the music she creates, they will always buy it and always support her.

I think we as a fanbase need to let go of wanting Gaga to top the charts. If she does, what a pleasant surprise that will be, and if she truly wants to do that again, we'll all be thrilled. But it's up to her. We can't dictate the career she wants to have, but we can support her through thick and thin.

I still personally think that her touring power will be on lock for a little longer. It will be a little less than right now since she is still riding high from the superbowl effect however if she is able to get moderate hits from the next era I think she can still ride her touring force wave/title a little longer! I am hopeful but not blind/in denial :p

Arizona Sky

The worst case scenario for the Grammys would be Kesha and Ed winning one each.

That's kinda like all your friends going to a party but not inviting you.

Preach that truth tea everything in this post is spot on

Everyone's twisting it like we're melting down or expected some unrealistic number. If you don't think LADY GAGA who is a huge international superstar getting only a little over 1 million views on 24 hours on a new single isn't concerning your lying to yourself

Well, I disagree with the above posts.

A lot of the GP wants Gaga to create an adele style album

as do the critics :trollga:

I'm not saying she absolutely NEEDs or has to have more commercial success. Like you mentioned if it happens that's great. However with her next era it is apparent that they might be aiming for more commercial success hence some quotes we got from the producers around her and the hints of the more pop leaning musical direction she may be going for with her next era. With that type of sound it is not criminal to suggest that she may be aiming for a more commercial sound. I do agree though that Joanne was not designed to be a smash era of sorts BUT what I am saying is that the streaming figures are a little troubling. Whether it is because of the musical directions/sound the album takes, Gaga's lack of supposed interest in commercial success or whatever reason it may be...it still does not negate the fact that streams are weak for a popstar and someone who is still so visible to the GPs consciousness. There is a lack of interest around her music at least from the streaming audience. Of course it is because of the sound but I'm not really exploring the "why"s...just looking at the state of things right now from a factual stand point. She is still of course a pretty great sales force but with sales dwindling it shifts my perspective and focus towards streaming as a charts fan :p

If this was a lead single radio friendly pop song with a strong professional pop visual this would be getting a lot more views.

It doesn't matter that no one cares. :rip: It literally has no impact on her career

Idk. I’m starting to think the Vegas residency will serve as the LG6 “Tour” so potentially there won’t be an actual world tour until 2020 or 2021. I guess we’re still too far away to know but I think I’ve gotten over expecting high commercial success.
