I don't get this converstationΒ It's not just ballads lol, Come To Mama is not even near mainstream, Perfect Illusion is a basically a rock song trying to be a pop song. Basically all of Born This Way was like arena rock influenced music. Hardly ANY of that album I would say was mainstream. Cheek to Cheek was nowhere commerical. And lots of Joanne is country/jolk inspired. Yes it has spots of pop music, I don't think that will ever change but her sound is very different. As a matter of fact, we are confirming that she in fact did change the music sheβs putting out.Β Sheβs still the same commercial and mainstream artist. Sheβs doing promo, sheβs doing The Super Bowl, sheβs doing all those huge awards shows, tv performances, docu movies, commercials, making multiple music videos, doing trend hopping standalone singles, being active on social media. All of the above confirms sheβs very much a commercial and mainstream artist. TheΒ style of music sheβs putting out doesnβt really matter unless sheβs going all BjΓΆrk or something.
