We're just sad the shutdown doesn't affect Trump and his going away would've been better. But despite the inconveniences, yeah the person has a point: a non functional government at least can't f things up. Yes but this happened during his second term. Trump could not get past a full year before there was a shut down..
Lion Heart 15,041
I just feel like this will backfire on Democrats. I don't think this was a good strategy. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀

In any case this is actually horrible.. for one reason.. The military.. The military is considered an essential branch, they will be required to work during the shut down.. Currently the military branches are paid until Feb 1st. If a bill is not passed before then they will be required to work without pay. That's the one reason? What about all the so called non essentials that are left with no pay check?

Well so far, polling suggests blame for the GOP and Trump. if that continues, then it was a good strategy.
JustinTrudeau 2,419
Heh, and on Trump's first year anniversary of his inauguration too But seriously, in a Republican-dominated D.C., this happens? I fell down the stairs once as an actor.

Im sorry. But i find it a bit worse when you in some cases literally are putting your life on the line to protect your country and have nothing to send home to your family.. When the government starts again pay is retroactive. So all those non essential jobs will be paid as well as the military.. I personally just feel that When it comes to the military, they job they do deserves a bit more respect.
