It's so funny because I can kind of see it working as a first name even though I also think it's ridiculous and par for the course for the family, but can you imagine if this became a thing and people started naming their kids after random cities and towns? Like Glasgow? Tottenham? Let me introduce you to my son, Blackpool. I'm gone. :deadbanana:

Have you met my daughter, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch? (It's Gogo for short. We could have gone with L(l)ani, but we wanted something more unique so she would feel special.)

It's not the worst choice for a location-based name, but still odd. I think it suits a boy better, I just think I'm used to boys names ending in "o" and girls names end in "a," so yeah. Chicago West definitely sounds like a future star, all their kids names do, which they obviously want. And it's a reference to Kanye's hometown, so it makes sense. Which might mean the next kid is called Angel (reference to LA) which is a unisex name or Armenia if it's a girl, so Kim gets a chance. I'd be willing to put a small bet on it.

Funny thing is, some people have done that. The big obvious ones are Brooklyn and Dakota (with names like India and Israel for country-orientated ones). There are also names like Preston (Gwen Stefani's boy's called that)and London. I'm from just outside Glasgow and can confirm that a kid named Glasgow would be laughed out of school.

Didn't that one awful British woman blast people who use geographic locations for names, but her daughter's name is India? :laughga: Ah, the mess.

Yep, Katie Hopkins, at 5:57:

She named her kids India, Poppy and Maximillian. It's funny, when people have multiple children, all the names seem cut from the same cloth - they're all normal names, they're all strange names, they're all modern names, they're all old-fashioned names, they're all names beginning with the same letter. But that is one of the most off-the-wall, disconnected three names for children that I've ever seen. I'm with the woman beside her: "I think you were on gas and air when you came up with those names!" And boy, did she hate it when anyone came after India's name. It's like, so it's ok for you to blast other people's name choices but not ok for them to criticise yours? And it's ok to give your child a location based name because you think it's beautiful but that can't be the reason that any other parent has given their child a location based name? I'll give it to Katie, she is consistent all of the time, but not here!

There's Chicago Fire, there's Chicago P.D, there's Chicago Med, there's Chicago Justice and now there's Chicago West.
