It's June 2010. Gaga decides to release Monster as TFM's fourth and final single.

Where does it chart (assuming that it peaking somewhere in the Top 10 is a given)?

4 I think. Honestly, though, I think it would do well as the lead, then it would stop the Tik Tok/Bad Romance situation and Bad Romance would go number one.

Kidding, I actually think it could have been a great hit.

What? How? Alejandro was probably as big as Poker Face where I live. She was definitely not saturated.

This thread proves even more that a lot of people here are not fans from the beginning :trollga:

Sorry to tell you this but all her singles at that time ended up top 10 very easily.

i think that she was saturated 'cuz she was playing a lot on radio and promoting af, she never had any break in 2008-2011/2

But she was coming off seven straight Top 10 hits... it's not unreasonable to assume that trend would have continued if The Fame Monster had produced a fourth single (and that trend did continue with four more songs on Born This Way). Literally every song Gaga released in the United States until Marry the Night charted within the Top 10, so I'm not sure why Monster would've been the anomalous outlier that suddenly bucks the pattern when she's at the height of her career.

Please let's not :

In the US :

Just Dance : #1

Poker Face : #1

LoveGame : # 5

Paparazzi : #6

Bad Romance : #2

Telephone : #3

Alejandro: #5

People were going crazy for her  during TF / TFM and it wasn't going down at that time

People turned their back during BTW for a lot of reasons (Madonna ripoff accusation, BTW being very gay, Judas having some deeper religious scandals and so on)
