ALGAYDO 35,379
Yikes They should be angry at the people who let this whole monkey thing happen, not at the employees who had absolutely nothing to do with it This does nothing but hurt their cause. AlexanderMagno 10,746
Hum, nice, behaving like irrational animals to protest against a claimed racism statement. I'll say, not even monkeys would do such a thing.

What they did is wrong. That is not the solution. Baut what you are doing here, is very wrong too. And people who think like you make them do such things. Comparing them to monkeys and animals. T3ARS 4,132
Found this one another forum basically sums up my feelings for this incident "I'm ready for all the non-blacks to go "wElL iF tHeY aCt LiKe MoNkEyS....." lmao. Honestly, though, this isn't "physically confronting racism". It's just causing chaos with the excuse that one of its products was racist. It's kind of a meaningless, base action that only really hurts the workers on cleanup duty unless they: 1) systematically target and destroy as many H&M outlets as possible within SA, and make the damages such an issue that it'd literally be more beneficial for H&M to just pull their brand from the country entirely. This would work well on top of a more shady campaign of sabotage on H&M to ruin its business in SA (ie spamming bad reviews, sending angry letters, tampering with clothing in the store, tampering with the store itself, and just doing the most to kill it) on top of making it very hard for those in corporate HQ to do their job via constant protests and 2) resolving NOT to buy from H&M, no matter what (this is the easiest method, but all the white and non-black people will still buy from there, so it may not be as effective) If they really wanted to punish H&M, they'd think about this a little more. Otherwise, this is just a tantrum IMO." It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. - Audre Lorde

I didn't call them monkeys and made them act like this. Oh no. I compared them to animals after they did this. White or black or albino, whoever behaves like this is irrational. They didn't do this because I think in a certain way (whatever you think that may be). I just think they are animals for doing this. And South Africa is not as underdeveloped as you might think. At least, these stores are in reasonably developed cities (for example, Johannesburg). In fact, just because this happened in a developing country doesn't excuse their behaviour. Wherever you might be in the world, you should be human enough to avoid this kind of violence. Yes, their behaviour was animalesque. And yes, not even monkeys would have been this unreasonably violent. Whatever these protesters were claiming, they completely lost the fight once they did this. Nop, I don't understand this behaviour and there's nothing to learn from this. If you really wanna go there, you're the one who's patronizing them because they live in a underdeveloped country. Careful, looking down on them might be as misinterpreted as calling them monkeys.
