Can any African american enlighten me with your insights? Do you find an Asian singing a The Weeknd song uncensored offensive? Coz it’s so strange to self censor when I do Karaoke 

as an asian myself i dont use N word or any word that insult to other cultrure

if it self censored when singing yes i do it all the time & i do feel a bit weird but still i dont want to use it even if it's just a song i know it's gonna influence people around me to feel ok to use it too. Cause there is a big FB page in our country that poke fun at many popstars, one time they use the N word & many people start to use it to make fun of each other they even feel it's ok to use it

Its silly of you to say that you cannot voice your opinion just because you're not black yourself.

Everyone and anyone is entitled to their own opinion on a subject, and to be able to voice said opinion. Otherwise, there would be no real discource happening.

It's the last word that some black people heard before they were strung up on trees and hanged for being black. It is absolutely rooted to its original meaning. Black people may have claimed the word to weaken its power over them, but that doesn't mean white people can use it. The fact white people use it at all is just another example of cultural appropriation at its worst: taking from other cultures because it seems cool, normalising it, claiming ownership of it, and erasing the true meaning of it.

Our race has a lot to answer for. I think we can live without using the n word. It's the least we can do.
