The modern use for said word is not rotted to the original meaning. It’s essentially slang for “homie”. I think it’s extremely unnecessary to dictate who can say what. Yes, you are the only one. I live in the Midwest. The friendships that I have with other people of color (I’m Hispanic) includes the casual use of words such as N****, N*****, and F*****. We have a philosophy that by using such terms. in a comedic form, we are, in turn, ridding said words of their power. Not only that, but a huge majority of the POC I know use the term N**** with their non-POC friends. I honestly feel everyone’s become too sensitive. Religion is a product to sell. Saying ''white boys are'' not only takes the the traits of some individuals and projects them into a mass of people but also makes the barrier between races even more deep because this way we imply a classification. A large majority of black people in my area use it when referring to their friends, wether they’re POC or not. Not only that, but they are completely okay with non POC using it as well. Why should I, as a Hispanic gay male, dictate wether or not my friend wants their check book to have sugar skulls on it? Why should I stop other people from enjoying my culture, or calling me a wetback as a joke? Why should I be mad and/or upset because they decided to use terms such as “Chico” or even “ese”? Should I be mad that on Christmas Day my partner’s family sang Feliz Navidad instead of Merry Christmas? No, I shouldn’t stop them. I shouldn’t be mad or upset. Why? Because I believe in unity. Worrying/Fighting about wether someone can say this, or can wear that stops us from unifying. We’re so caught up on white people wearing dreads and sugar skull makeup that we forget we’re all human. We feed into the notion that we are in fact not the same. Religion is a product to sell.
phillipaf 685
Oh my god. Who the **** cares. Why do you all care so much. I know it's a bad thing to say, but because he's famous he gets to do and say whatever the **** he wants. You're giving him free publicity. If you want him to be over, then STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM. AmericanGUY 4,609
obviously he had intent to say it and that's disgusting but... as the n-word gains prominence in top rap songs that chart high, is it possible for people to slip up? like i can see why ignorant minds would see it as okay. idk i just feel like it'd be better if no one said it at all ꧁ 𝕛'𝕧𝕖𝕦𝕩 𝕡𝕒𝕤 𝕞𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕚𝕣 𝕥𝕠𝕦𝕥𝕖 𝕤𝕖𝕦𝕝𝕖 ꧂

It means the same thing as being shocked doesn't it? Jake is just as much trash as him brother. Why are you shocked? You make English difficult . Don't go so deep, it's not an english lesson The reference is clear I think. What I meant is that I care so little that I'm not even gonna start pretending to be shocked cause we all knew something like this would happen eventually. Morphine Prince 106,175
Imagine thinking using racial slurs is participating in someone’s culture. Yikes. As a Hispanic, I personally don’t use that word in my vocabulary but know many who do. I know many black people who find it offensive when others use it so I see no need to use it. It’s that simple. And yet people comment and complain and give him views in their attempt to admonish him. How fxcking dim are you? You’re playing right into his hand! We’ve been in the internet age for far too long for you to not realise that you’re encouraging them and putting coins in their pockets. You’re part of the problem, not the solution.
