There’s similarities, but if anything, the supposed “ripped off” song sounds a lot like the Ghost In The Shell anime tv show intro.

So Katy listens to Polish music now? Cool.

BTM is still my current fav from the album.

Bigger Than Me plays on a pseudo euro-pop melody with Eurocentric production, so I’m not very surprised that it’s familiar to another song since they follow simple melodies and chorus progressions that are standard in that pop era of music.

Also can we appreciate the fact that Bigger Than Me is pop magic and is the best song from witness  when the chorus and beat kicks im BALD every time

The first song sounds like it’s being sang in Simlish :laughga:

Anyway, theres no denying that they’re very similar... songs a bop still.

It's kind of Edward Maya/Inna inspired track and I am sure that if we would dig a little bit into 2010-2012 discographies, we would find more similar tracks.

A boring pop song off a boring pop album sounds like another boring pop song.

Quick, call the press!

In reality, pop songs share similar chords/melodies all the time. Of all the recent reasons people try to drag Katy, this is among the dumbest.

Even Gaga has been accused of this. But there are only so many chord progressions that apply to pop music. Songs are bound to sound similar to other songs once in a while.
