gabeoz 7,915
Fats I am here for a question for you! It's no question that many songs on ARTPOP have a deeper meaning. But what do you gheys think is the deepest? I was listening to the album today and I honestly debated this for a while. Honestly, for me it has to be Applause (and many of you are sitting there like ), but here's why. Applause tells a story as well as the music video for it as well. It tells the story of us and her. In the Applause imagery and cover art the painted face is to represent the Jester. We are her kings and queens and she is the jester who has to entertain us because without our approval she is nothing without us, she will die and that she feels she must appease us. The music video tells it own story. We see Gaga go through her previous eras with different to them. We see her at the top and then her fall to the bottom, probably representing her hip injury but then we see her rebirth, her rising again her venture into ARTPOP. Red Velvet 10,988
I'd like to say Dope, Swine, Mary Jane Holland, Do What U Want, Applause, Gypsy and ARTPOP. Dope is about loving someone better than anything else, the one you depend on. You don't need drugs for you to depend on, you should depend on someone you want to be with. Swine is about (we been knew) rape, after saying she has been raped, I like how she makes a dark story to be an upbeat song, Swine was always a song with a deep meaning. Mary Jane Holland is about addiction, she depended on that drug for a long time, even back in 2011, she was still in marijuana. Do What U Want is about the paparazzis. Her Piece of Me. She really hated about being biased in the public's eyes. She doesn't want to be a manufactured popstar, she hates hatred. Applause is about her fans, a thank you for her fans who is still here and still accepts on loving her. Gypsy is about love on someone you feel is home. That explains all. ARTPOP is anything. I'm like some kind of supernova

Felipe Brockveld 44
I love the title track. I should love if the little "eh, eh, eh" screams were louder in the album version, like in the iTunes Festival. But Venus... I mean. Aphrodite. Lady. Seashell Bikini. Garden Panty. DaddyFranco 604
Dope is not deepest. It’s just emotional. It’s not that deep talking about needing someone more than dope, it’s sad but it’s simple. However ARTPOP is very deep talking about art and pop hybdrid, music industry, materialism, love, passion for art and so on

bpmMonkey 5,989
2 hours ago, Piece of Me said: Mary Jane Holland is about addiction, she depended on that drug for a long time, even back in 2011, she was still in marijuana. ARTPOP is anything. I don’t really think it’s about addiction, that’s to easy imo, it’s like saying DiC is just about masturbation. She told in an interview it’s about one of her personas she used to get into. After she dyed her hair brown she went a night out in Amsterdam and introduced her self as Mary Jane Holland („fly under radar tonight“). So I think it’s more about her going back to an intimate place where she can exist without anybody knowing her.
