sipthistea 21,099
Gaga is in a very good place in her career. And the Vegas residency can be very benefical. It's a very different type of show, and she will be introduced to a new kind of audience. Once again, she does something unexpected. I would agree it would hurt her career if the Vegas residency were happening right after the ARTPOP era.

It's not really the vocals, it's the fact that she is mostly a product of someone else's vision. That is one issue Gaga won't have. There is still that stigma with Vegas though. Will radio play music from a vegas act? Does she even need radio? Beyonce didn't for Lemonade for example. That perfectly summed up what I was trying to express! The stigma is definitely there though, you are right. But, hopefully this will be a step towards its removal. It would be really cool if a lot of current artists do Vegas residencies here and there. As for radio play, I dont think her doing Vegas would impact radio play. If its new music then it would just depend on its “quality” aka whether or not it is radio friendly. Her location doesn’t effect that. I’m very intrigued to see what the show will be. Gaga is going to go big, and I’m sure this future residency will be big! ⚯͛
Stewful2929 786
When u go to Vegas it’s all for money to keep ur life style up when u can no longer make the money that ur used to why do u think she signed the contract with a Tiffany’s pen? How are they going to do the shows? She has approximately 37 shows a year, does that mean she's do 7 then a break, another 7 another break or??? 5? 10? 2. What will she do during those breaks? Promote the album which is hopefully and reasonably coming before the residency or just vanish? If she's promoting during the breaks and maybe even tour the album then great, but if she just drops it and then does 37 shows in Vegas and nothing else for it, eek sis.... Good question. A lot in Vegas do 3 nights a week so... 3 x 4 weeks = 12 month or 2 off 3 x 4 = 12 month or 2 off 3 x 4 = 12 (and a NYE) time off That's roughly a schedule all subject to changes and artist. Some put in 4 a week for more time off or how well the tickets sell. Between then they have rehearsals, changes, set changes, new screens, new costume fittings, promo for the hotel, Vegas days, the vegas cycling/marathon days, interviews, photo shoots, meetings, merch organizing, physio ect. It will be interesting to see where and how shell put together her dates, with making promoting new music, shows, tv, awards promos. She has to fit in vocal and physical recovery and of course personal life. Everybody wants her to be happy, well and on top form.

The General Public either completely forgets about you, or they hate you. It's very rare for casual listeners to talk about a singer or artist selling out. And I agree Usually it's the lip-synching thing that comes up first in the conversation

When most people think of Vegas, they think old, legend, legacy, hasbeen, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, etc. Britney was supposed to revolutionalize these things, but she only partly did it. She was still the coolest and hippest to do Vegas but she didn't have the thriving commercial career and revelance in the music landscape. I haven't listened to any of the morning shows this week, but I imagine a lot are saying things like "only 10 years into her career" and stuff like that. The fact is Gaga didn't NEED this. She can announce a tour tomorrow and sell out. She can release an album tomorrow and go #1. But to 95% of people, Vegas = legend/legacy/hasbeen who has nothing else to do. And I think that could affect her at radio. Of course, if anyone can break through and go against the norm, its Gaga. The odds are stacked against her, but its not impossible. reysus 1,064
I think the difference between Britney and Gaga is their types of star. Britney, while I love her, depended almost solely on image and catchy hooks from great producers to get big. Gaga on the other hand has more raw musical talent that will still be here long after the pop hits in her 20s. She's already shown the gp her talent so I think she will still have a lot of doors open after Vegas.
Twitter 14
To make a long story short! The Vegas residencies helped Britney’s career. While Gaga will be helping Vegas’ residencies for future artists.
