Gaga did the Monster Ball 1.0 in theaters that earned her <$400,000 yet she didn't have problems with that. Also, funny how monsters at first were angry at Gaga for signing that residency and acted like she was hungry for money but now you are all pressed about her earnings.

Vegas eating up all the great artists 

On topic, I'm not surprised... Adele's always been very modest with her career and tried to have good work-life balance. Vegas will allow it much more than touring the whole world and maintaining a 2-year album cycle. Her popularity is really an anomaly but one that I really appreciate, cuz her music is great. Still, there's virtually no guarantee for her to be as successful with another album as with 21 and 25 so maybe that's a good move after all.

Lol exactly. Being rich is expensive. Imagine having several houses on different continents, a couple of cars, security guards, and the entire staff of yours. Bills are huge and it's not easy to escape them.
