This thread is a mess and a kii. And the fact that users who are hardly active on the forums are suddenly now popping up to drag/shade/bring down Gaga and any other fan on this site that tries to see the positive in things speaks volumes about some of her fans. It's understandable to be down or realistic about things, but the extent some of y'all are going to get your negativity across on a thread that is about Adele is so sad.

To those debunking the idea of a Las Vegas residency: have you ever even been to Vegas? It’s not an old people town anymore. There are dozens of pool parties and clubs catered to young people. World renown DJs have club residency’s and no grandparents go to those.

Gaga is a perfect choice for this because she can bring in the younger people who go to Vegas to party and don’t mind catching a show for the Las Vegas experience. Also, the older adults who may have seen her on the Oscars or were impressed by the Super Bowl will have coins to spend thanks to gambling.

I feel like $100M is kinda a stretch, but I think that will include merch sales and other stuff. Not to mention meet and greets every night. Britney’s meet and greets are $1,500 a person.

Adele is a fantastic choice because of her cross generational popularity. She could totally take over the Coliseum if Celine ever retires. Only issue is that she indefinitely postponed her last shows due to vocal issues so hopefully this wouldn’t be an issue.

:classy:watch Vegas become like that casino land in Star Wars where it's the only place for entertainment and everyone starts going their for vacation to see tours

The fact that Gaga is doing a Vegas residency points exactly to the opposite. She has become a local act. There is no international reach from Vegas. It's a safe secure option.

The market in Europe points to the fact that people don't really care much about her. And let's not forget the SuperBowl boost in the US, that helped sell JWT tickets. The same didn't happen in Europe and it didn't sell that well.

No, this isn't a good career move, and it will never be.

Well good thing it is not your career to worry about or manage 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Park Theater holds approximately 5,200 people. I checked ticket prices for Cher's show in Vegas and they range from $55 to $270 depending on where you sit. Let's take an average and say $160.

5200 * 160 = $832,000

For 74 concerts that's $62 million, which is close to the reported $75 million figure, so it's totally reasonable (maybe after you factor in things like $1000+ meet and greets).

Gaga is not only going to serve an epic, huge show

She's ushering in the era of the modern-day Vegas show

Revolutionizing the concept of a residency existing for "has-beens"

Freeing us of stereotypes, labels and perception

Expanding our horizons, and serving us EDUCATION as to why Vegas is so historic

And encouraging other acts to follow suit

A true warrior kween

Omg Gaga and Adele both doing residencies and hanging out in Vegas on the weekends together forming a friendship and collabing on a song together on each of their next albums and visiting each other at their shows and supporting each other in full Hey Girl style 2018

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

and the moment all these other people get residencies, this fanbase will claim Gaga started the trend while they were shitting on it the most :reductive:

It's still Britney who started bringing it back tbh

Brilliant! Why not! Oh wait, I'm still waiting for her to finish her last tour! Still No word on that! Why not add extra dates before the finale and cancel the original two!

To be honest I think staying in one place suits Adele better anyway, she has kids and doesn't seem to be a huge fan of travelling around everywhere, I mean she did it a lot for the 25 tour but I got the sense that it was quite draining for her although she loved the fan interactions and the actual performing side of it  The thing is like I don't want artists to do residencies over world tours because I'm too lazy to go to another country to see an artist, but then I also want them to just do whatever works best for them because it's their own happiness that trumps all and I'd rather a residency than a blackout as well :laughga:

At the end of the day it's their career and we're just the consumer, if something works for us then we go out and purchase into it, if it doesn't then we don't  Not everything can work for us because not everything is about us (as a singular individual), I hope I'm even making sense :duck:
