Vegas Residency Will Span Two Years

This is sad to me because I have never had enough money to go to a Gaga concert and was planning on going to the next one, because I'd be living in New York. Lord knows if I'll ever get to see her. Hopefully she still does regular tours.

Surely you can't be referring to Bruno Mars...you know, the guy who performed at the Halftime show before Gaga and not only has a residency in the same venue she will, but also just snatched several Grammy nominations and has a insanely successful tour...

So tell me again how her playing 37 shows in Vegas will ruin her career again...?

My point is she's focusing her attention in the wrong place we've seen this before with gaga, she builds up foundations to make a WW successful era then makes a mistake which sets her back, if she does a few months December 2018 January 2019 has a break focus on LG6 the. Return as pre LG6 tour promo way may still stand a chance, but she should have focused on one thing at a time, or showed attention to places she's not attended for a while 👍

That's probably what is happening. This residency is a side gig, if that. By no means is it her focus. She probably did it to have a stationary place to perform and then also money. With the enormous span of time she has for these dates, she has plenty of chances to promote herself. Keep in mind, she's not going to be doing BTW-style promo where she's everywhere. Her body can't feasibly handle that much travel. Focusing on one thing at a time is not really possible as a pop artist especially when you're on top of your game. If you're moderately successful in anything, you have a few things cooking at once that will be done at different times. That way there's always something happening. The residency is to fill in the gaps when she's not doing as much, I imagine, but keep her in the public eye.

Which is your opinion. This is typical "stan" logic, which is so toxic and damaging.

If she puts out good music and puts on a good show, all else shouldn't matter.

Just listen to the music, not your inane idea of what type of promotion she needs, Troy Jr.

Or she's taking a break and wants them coins and it means she can carry on enjoying performing

Opinions are allowed in a forum that's the idea to discuss, fans don't always have agree with every choice artist makes, either way I'll show my support, what's toxic is when other fans tell them they can't have an a opinion or it's damaging

Bruno did like 8 shows in Vegas, his is not a full-blown residency. Gaga is doing 74 dates. 

 

and by the way, I'm SO TIRED of supporting her. Y'all can keep bragging about her power as a money making machine but I need my fearless NYC art school girl back. This is so ludicrous.

Doot made a good point that Vegas residencies nowadays are not only very lucrative but they are structured like two months performing, then 4 months off, another 2 months on, 4 months off etc.  so that gives the artists plenty of time to do other projects in between the "legs" of the residency.

  And with Gaga you also need to factor her health concerns as well so the breaks will be good for her as well as not having to travel extensively.  I am sure Gaga will make her shows spectacular and  it also gives her the opportunity to exercise her creativity and change the stagings for each of the legs.

And knowing Gaga and the way she cares for her extended "show" family this gives them a way to make a living too instead of waiting for another Gaga tour (besides other gigs obviously).   

The more i think of about it i went from being a bit confused to now it makes a lot of sense for  her.

I find Gaga very inspirational;  not only for her creativity and performance artistry but also for her work ethic and business mind.

The main thing that throws me in all of this is the timing of the announcement. We're literally a year out from opening night - announce it six months in advance...early summer right after ASIB dies down a bit. Seems so early.
