Imagine being so young and getting your own Vegas residency. That’s beyond legendary. Second imperial phase  has been confirmed.

"That's beyond legendary."  Say what?  Residencies have never been wanted by younger, relevant, big acts.  It was seen as irrelevance, past your peak, a GH act.  It's not some big coup for her getting a great residency.  Of course, they would want her.  It's a coup for them, not some big deal that she would be offered this.  .  But it's she shouldn't want them for a two year residency. You are playing to a bunch of older people in town for gambling and just gamblers taking in shows, mixed in with some fans.  They got older acts because it was good money for them and putting on a greatest hits show.  I thought Gaga would never stoop to this at her age, instead being more like a rocker act.    She is so huge that I included her in with those type acts of touring to a huge fan base and feeding off of the energy of fans at those shows, supporting her newer music, not going for easy money in Vegas for two years as a GH act.

Cher said it was depressing, staring out into the audience of a lot of business people, older people who are Vegas goers, gamblers, compared to being on tour with true fans filling arenas.  But Cher is older, so I get taking that type of residency for money. She said she would never, ever do it again, but I knew she would eventually for the money, and has.   Britney did it because she has kids and has issues.  Being stable was good for her.  And she was touring since a teenager.

God help me if we ever see Muse or Arcade Fire doing this while still in their prime.   Even ColdPlay or older acts like U2 would kill me to see them setting up as a GH act, not touring behind an album and it being a big event.

If it's what she wants to do, fine, for a money grab.  But  I don't get it.  And say what you want, but performing for 80 more shows during the next two years is not good for her health.  I would rather see her finish her tour, write a new album, do her little performances on TV, awards, etc., working on her body health, and then touring strong again behind a new album, not using up her voice and body on a residency gig, and possibly by then her health not the greatest by her next tour.

This is just my opinion.  I'm not asking anyone to feel the same as me.   If fans are happy for this, then  fine.  If she's happy, then okay.

I think that is the key.  At this point $$ is not her primarily consideration anymore (she is probably worth a bit more than $300mil at this time).   I like her musicianship but admire her business and career management even more.   Since day one she has always strategized and balanced her love for being a creative and performance artist and having good business sense (e.g. she nearly went bankrupt in her first Fame tour because she knew she had to plow every cent into the tour to gain the attention and support of Live Nation, who she knew was going to be the preeminent live promoter of the world).

Rest assured she and her team have thought about all the issues we have thought about and have decided this was the best arrangement for the near future.

There are talks in Vegas that the Venue will be Aerosmith's, Gaga in-between. (Not confirmed) which could mean we might get duets on some nights. That would be amazing! Everybody loves Aerosmith!

What are you even talking about?

Have you seen the  Vegas of today? It's all young, party going people! It's a perfect fit. Look at Britney's crowds.

I guess, you're right.  Britney served the young partier demographic that goes there or people in their 30s also who grew up with her, or who are just there to party and gamble.

Still, I wish Gaga did this at 35, not right now.   It takes a lot to put this show together for months before it opens  and then the dates spread out.  It will involve a lot of her two years.  I still would prefer she rest, write and put out a killer album, and go on a world tour bringing her NEW music to big venues with the whole audience being her true fans.  It's an event for fans, the anticipation, following her around.  This will be same ol' place, same size place, and following it for a month and then it won't be interesting anymore to watch videos.

I have this fear after this two-year residency, she will get pregnant, and then no tour supporting her next album.

But it's her life.  She will bank money.  I will go see her while she's there.   I just hated seeing an article that said Vegas used to be for has-beens making money on GH shows with a built-in audience, but said now younger acts are doing it also to revive their career, to get more interest back.  Ugh.  I hate Gaga being lumped into that group.

Believe me, ive been there are old big fat gamblers in the expensive seats. The majority of the crowd are amazing though, off the wall atmosphere.
