Damn. This is horrible. I hope he'll be okay. 

I traveled to the US with my family this October and I'm the only one that speaks english so we would speak in spanish all the time. People looked at us weird and some treated us badly. I even heard some rude **** said about us, because people didn't think I could understand them 

I really felt a shift in the way people treated us, compared to how it felt 3 years ago  It's very sad and concerning.

In North America, Spanish is primarily associated with Latin America, not Spain. 

The fact that Spanish is a dirty language despite the fact it is a European language just like English is literally racism.

I don't know if that is now offensive or not, but if it is please tell me, but aren't some Latin American countries also very white? I have some distant relatives in Argentina and they are really white

Some are very white. Like Argentina. Most aren’t though. Most are composed of people who are a mix of white and native. There’s a large spectrum. Also if you look up how many white people are in a certain country it can be misleading as it depends WHAT you identify as a white person  Some people identify as white despite the fact they might not be considered white in some places. This is why it’s easier to identify through ethnicity and nationality rather than race for Latin Americans.
