Naor Daniel 937
They are protesting against America's decision (accepted as a law since 95 or 96) to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and move the American embassy from Tel Aviv. Before outraging, you need to realize Donald Trump DID NOT choose a "new capital" for Israel, as Jerusalem has always been the capital BY ISRAELI LAW since 1949. Nothing changed on the ground and it has no direct effect on anyone. Same stuff in Syria ended up in 500,000 dead so I'm not morally bothered for this protester. They will always find things to "rage" on while Israel stays strong and thriving. We sincerely don't care.

Trump just recognised it as the capital from the US gov perspective, and when the leader of the free world recognises it, its practically claiming it as the capital on a global scale. Excellent. Since when do they respect America or the free world anyway? Jerusalem is mentioned everywhere through the Bible and holy Jewish scripts, not even once in the Quran. They had the audacity to build the Al Aqsa mosque ON TOP of the HOLIEST SITE to Jews and claim the city is theirs. The recognition is irrelevant since Israel would never back off Jerusalem. It is not only a capital DE FACTO and JURE of Israel and Israelis, it is also the capital of Jews around the world. Trump clearly said that it has nothing to do with the borders of Jerusalem that both parties will decide on later. Peace cannot be achieved if we ignore reality and actual facts. They don't only deny Jerusalem as Israel's capital, most Muslim countries deny Israel's existence in the first place. It's not helping anyone. Your president even praised the move on social media. When the most powerful nation on Earth publicly announces it will move its embassy it is major news. You don’t care? Vile attitude. I live in Israel, these protests and "day of rage" are not new and will fade in a week or two, they do that every month or two so it doesn't excite us nor we care. All they do is rioting and burning their very own towns and villages while most Israelis are completely unbothered. Jews didn't announce a "day of rage" when UNESCO viciously decided Jews have no historical connection to Jerusalem. We don't believe violence solves anything. Muslims around the world do not recognize Israel's existence and no one really cares about it... Congress recognizes the reality of Jerusalem being Israel's capital and it's "major news" and "dangerous". It's not.

Both sides of this conflict need to come to terms with reality. Seems to me like no one is willing to give up anything.

Naor Daniel 937
Anyone disagreeing on the historical connection of Jews to Jerusalem is more than welcome to talk about the Palestinian history. Who were their kings? What was their currency? How many times did they exist as an independent nation through history? What historical sites do they have on the land? When did they come to be? Disclaimer: I don't deny their right for independent state with East Jerusalem as their capital. It's just that this side tends to deny our right as Jews for an independent state in our homeland and deny our historical connection to it.

I’m not denying Jerusalem’s connection to the Jewish people. But you can’t ignore modern problems by bringing up the past. I don’t agree with Muslims who want to destroy Israel either. I just think things can’t be ignored.
