I don't think Scheisse would be a hit unless there were a radio edit cutting the gibberish part.

I'd say Starstruck (not one of my fave but it would be a smash hit back then);

Dance In The Dark

Heavy Metal Lover

Aura (radio edit with no intro)

Sheisse was the original ones

DITD Was a single in some countries

HML Was going to be as well

Luxe Ford

Scheiße, because of iconic cod German.

Aura, because of monstrous hit potential and memorable hook.

ARTPOP, because it feels like her manifesto.

John Wayne, despite the fact he was a douche.

What happens in Luxe Ford stays in Luxe Ford

Nothing on (but the radio)

side note: I just don’t think Sheiße would’ve done that well tbh, same with most of the songs on AP, not saying they’re bad at all, just think production wise they’re more boppish songs The Gays™ love, not really like Justine beebz/one erection were at the time

show me to me please

Some tea on the ARTPOP singles

In the summer of 2013,Jimmy Lovine(the head of Interscope),agreed with Gaga that Sexxx Dreams would be released as ARTPOP's lead. However, after Gaga thought a song called 'The Applause'(which currently of course goes by Applause)wasn't good enough, and didn't wanna put it on ARTPOP,Jimmy Lovine heard it,got obsessed, and Gaga started liking it too, because she realized that the lyrics of the song suited her current situation,in which she was in pain because of her hip,and the only thing that kept her going,is her Little Monsters(our)applause. They renamed it Applause, and it got chosen for the lead single.

Aura was also allegedly going to be the lead single, but that may be a fake rumor.Gaga leaked it anyway,so it was probably to let us know that she still wanted it to be a single, but it was never(and certainly not the lead)a single. However,it got used as the soundtrack of the movie Machette Kills 2,were Gaga also played a small role in as La Chameleon,so it didn't get completely to waste.

Venus was meant to be the second single, however, her label(Interscope)saw more succes in Do What You Want.Venus was also the last produced song on ARTPOP,being fully produced in September 2013,one month before Gaga handed the whole album to Interscope.Do What You Want got released as the second single, and was really succesful, debuting in the top 20,and it even was #1......for a few minutes though. However,as no music video was seen to be released until the end of 2013,it slowly went down the charts until being fully knocked out.

G.U.Y was released on Valentine's Day(14 of February)of 2014.Gaga shot an all-self produced and funded video for it earlier in February. But sadly the song underperformed, pretty much ruining any other single possibilities, after the music video was released. It peaked at #76.

Gypsy was originally going to be the last single of ARTPOP,but after G.U.Y underperformed,Interscope refused to put out another ARTPOP single.
