The same thing is going to be said in another 10 years about this year’s top 10.

Not really. Ten years ago most likely would have been on the same level as ten years prior to that. Current top radio is not my cup of tea.

I remember everyone back then saying how terrible the music industry was 10 years ago - I’m just saying IN GENERAL people don’t appreciate what they have when they have it.

I forgot the name of the phenomena but it happens with fashion too - the more time passes, the more people see the trend as attractive (in general).

It honestly reminds me of EVERY Gaga era. I remember people on here saying she was over with BTW, it was too loud and not as good as TF/TFM - now it's hailed as godly (rightly so).

I bet once LG6 comes - everyone will be saying how genuine and perfect she was during Joanne (not everyone obviously but yeah). It's inevitable tbh.

I try and appreciate things in the moment and try to not to get in the mindset of "____ was better when..."

A lot of people on here used to talk about how gaga saved music in 2008 and how bad romance raised the standard for pop music that made 2008-2010  a kinda golden era in pop radio.

And its true no one has yet to make headlines the way gaga did in her prime even the biggest acts of the 2010s (adele, Miley, Taylor, ed, Taylor again).

Maybe the next big thing is upon us waiting for 2018 to lasso their ropes on out faves weaves snatching them right off andrunning off with them to the #1 spot of the billboard hot 100/200

This and I would even go farther an say that it's critically known / understood by many in the industry that she ushered in a new era, a "golden age" for pop music. We saw a massive shift from RnB, hip hop influence back to Dance music with four step beats with Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance etc.

Interesting because we're kind of in the same place again, 10 years later. RnB, hip hop influences dominating radio with no single artist (or artistS for that matter) who is dominating everything the way Gaga (even Katy / Nicki (I say Nicki cuz back then she was basically a pop girl)) did in 2008 - 2011. There's kind of a void that's not really being filled at the moment.
