I don't wanna say anything wrong because I don't remember correctly but once I talked with an older woman from Albania or Kosovo who said something that she is Yugoslavian in the first place and its a shame how everything fell apart. It were some years ago, so I don't remember correctly what she said.

It's obviously wrong of him to retweet this as such a public figure as it kind of gives off the idea that every single muslim or middle eastern person acts this way.

However, I don't like how everyone brushes off the difference in upbringing that people of this origin have. It's not something that can just be ignored, and should be taken into account when talking about integration. Western ideals differ greatly from Islamic ideals.. It bothers me that people are still so naive, especially in America where the refugee crisis isn't that visible..

Just a small example, 9/10 times when me or one of my LGBTQ friends experience some kind of discrimination or harassment in Belgium it comes from youngsters of Middle Eastern heritage.

It's very important to talk about issues like that. I agree. It's sad enough that separate refugee camps for LGBT need to exist.

That is an even better example. My boyfriend is a refugee, he's been in the country for 2yrs and a half now, and he's been to 3 seperate camps where he experienced harassment because they eventually realised he wasn't straight. The stories he's told me are horrifying, and he's got the scars to prove it

Yes he is safe now and learning Dutch, he's living with a landlord who took him under his wing the first couple of months before I met him, he now has his own studio

She used the term Bosnian for people of Bosnia of all religions, not just Muslims. You said it’s not hers.

Of course you believe this... “Poturica” is used as a slur and the term was used in Ottoman period for first converts. Bosniaks have been Muslims for centuries, they are not converts anymore and those who converted hundreds of years ago were Bosnian Slavs, bogumils and some of Christian background, but they were not Serbs. That’s again, Serbian propaganda, even Jesus was Serb, according to some. Muslims living in Serbia could say they have Serbian background.

Yes. That’s exactly what they are. But because of the nationalism many are trying to be bigger Serbs than the ones born and raised in Serbia, ironic. If they hate Bosnian as a term, why are they still there?

This reminded me, who blew up the bridge in Mostar? Who was shelling Sarajevo during the siege? Let’s use that and generalize Christians, shall we? 

I know how they call themselves and again everyone needs to accept that, but they’ll deny Bosniak identity.
