But not in such a way as they did this year and also not at the expense of worse albums by white artists. Like, what a representation in the main categories. Black artists have been nominated, but when Beyoncé only wins, really, for what Urban album (essentially best black album) for Lemonade, an album that had massive critical acclaim, that’s not honestly being recognized. That’s giving her a nom so she’ll perform (as they did). She was nominated for AOTY, but Adele won for an album that even she thought wasn’t as good. I’d agree with you if the albums nominated weren’t actually all great, but they are and were similarly the ones that got the most praise this year while white artists really didn’t aside from Bjork who is eligible next year.

Well Adele's 25 was x50 more successful than Lemonade so that probably led to its win.Let's not pretend that Adele won because Beyonce is black :rip: Beyonce,as you said, did get nominated for the biggest award of the night, she just didn't win..

Maybe you and Adele believe that Beyonce should have won (I do too in fact) but music is subjective and critics believed that Adele deserved it more. What can you do? It's not like the best album always wins (even between white artists)

This is so stupid. Now they're going to nominate people and albums that don't deserve a nom just for diversification. Can we also nominate Asian songs and albums then ?

Chris Evans

Gambino is great these nominations do reflect better than last years but now there's so many women missing from these noms

Had it stayed the same we would've seen Ed Sheeran too many times but now we have JAYZ to be annoyed at his album was a non event and not even close to being his best

Does this mean Melodrama wont win Album of the Year? I can already see Twitter going “Of course the only white person wins” because you can’t please everyone. :sharon:

Funny thing is, if Bruno (a person of color) wins (with his R&B album) they still won't be happy.

Yeah who the hell is Childish Gambino?:saladga:

Also they could and should have given more nods to women, not just black men.

Awaken my love was a huge album. Just because you choose to live under a rock doesn’t mean he’s irrelevant.

I've seen you ask this twice.

Honestly, his album and record deserve their respective nominations.

I suggest you listen to them :stalkga:

Honestly how dare you disrespect the iconic Childish Gambino like that :grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr:

It's not like they really did a good job this year.

Granted, I'll give them kudos for including more men of Color. But alas, women, especially women of Color, were ultimately ignored.

3 points in and ready for more

Wow, the racist whites are triggered because, once in a blue moon, we weren't the center of the universe. Seek treatment guys. :toofunny:

Some of you guys on here are really damn embarrassing. Please just get some air and diversify your music for once.

I've never been more happy with the nominations - all five albums were incredible, we don't have any random country or rock act getting an Album of the Year nomination, Logic's awesome suicide song made it in, and all in all it was a great year for music and it showed for once. They could've so easily just had Ed Sheeran sweep the nominations, and yet they made some incredible choices.

Ok, not all choices were great - looking at you, 'Issues' - but considering the history of the Grammys and particularly the results of the last 4 or 5 years, I think they finally got it right.

And come at me - Joanne was never AOTY material. I loved it, but it had its problems.

And also there are literally no LGBT nominees in any main categories except for Gaga and Kesha who are bisexual.
