I know Stefani is all “music not the bling” and shiz but damnit, why didn’t she do this with Million Reasons or Dancin’ in Circles. You can say she’s trying to maintain some type of artist integrity but she’s already done this with DWUW and I mean, let’s not forget about Telephone. I just don’t get the strategy, clearly she wants to have a legacy, but collaborations will always reach a wider audience.

Her artistic integrity will be her legacy. A collaboration should be a shared artistic vision for a song or album, not a cheap gimmick. The fact that she does it so rarely makes her collaborations special and meaningful. Not everything can nor should it be about selling a record.
