just another gay 836
Do you ever get inspired by Gaga in any way differently in different eras? Artistically or "spiritually"? Share the impact of how each era had influenced you Me: The Fame: - The idea of "POP icons/ kitsch" -Got into shiny stuff, disco ball (but I like DISCO aesthetic in the first place already lol) and DIY-ish clothing TFM: I got a bow cut (sort of) after watching Alejandro video and wearing gloves and looking for studded clothing everywhere after the Telephone video BTW: - the idea of acceptance/ equality - the idea of freedom as "living between fantasy and reality" - Judas/ MTN impact: you can only be stronger if you embrace the darkness of you -Judas video impact: I was wearing bandanas every day -TEOG: untill today, I'd still always reenact the video every time I saw a light pole or fire escape lollll -You And I: got my cheap blazer and white shirt trying to be as hot as Jo Calderone ARTPOP: - the idea of "yourself as a blank canvas -> possibilities" (so I took it in a literal way and started to wear a single color head-to-toe each day, as a way to treat myself as a palette LOL) - all-white-look - the ARTPOP walk/ worship routine everytime I listen to ARTPOP(song) lol C2C: N/A just simply enjoying the music, less thinking Joanne: - PI-ish crop top, dark boots during PI era - wearing my brokeback mountain look every day lol - Big hats - started to learn guitar because of million reasons - the idea of being so passionate about your hard work - the idea of connecting with people authentically, reaching out, share kindness

FATCAT 60,084
I get inspired to listen to different music by her, but I wouldn't say it's era dependent. She got me into bowie during TF but I could have just as easily started during Joanne. This kitten over here (meow)
HorusRa2 5,005
The Fame: Inspired me to unleash my outrageous personality. The Fame Monster: inspired me to express myself through written word through some college-era heartbreak. Born This Way: inspired me to love myself and others—without the outrageous melodrama. ARTPOP: Inspired me to let loose and be the most wild I had ever been. Joanne: inspired me during marriage and helped me prioritize my life. The Cure: inspired me to accept and tackle the challenge of my mothers colon cancer diagnosis (stage IV with mets to liver, lungs, and abdominal lining). I came home to see my mom (flew from WA to NC) and within 2 days of being home, Gaga dropped The Cure. That song means so much to me and really represents how I treat my mother's disease. Gaga is always releasing music that seems relevant to my life when she releases it.

FfFfFfFF 56,040
Gaga in general makes me think of rebellious and courageous person and those are traits which I recognize in myself. Also, her integrity and artistry might inspire me. I don't think there are any differentiated ways in which her albums inspire me, other than her constant unconventionality (even in Joanne era, for me John Wayne MV was the heart of the era). holy scheisse 22,275
Okay so going back in time... This is how eachz album impacted me upon it's release. The fame -- got me in touch with art, music, fashion, pop culture. I was fascinated with celebrity and fame just like gaga was. It made me adopt a more confident way of presenting to the world. One noteable impactful things were when she talked about her sense of inner fame and how anybody can present themselves to the world in a way where they believe to be worthwhile etc... The fame monster-- embraced all her darkness to the maxxx. This was when things really started getting freaky and demonic and she was becoming more and more of a cult like figure with her fans. I felt a sense of power in the beauty of all my darkness by living through her era with her. It deepened my appreciation for fashion, art, and music too. Born this way-- at the time, I rejected it. I wanted it to be TFM 2, but it was not. That's perhaps why I loved Judas so much cause it's a bad romance knockoff. But otherwise this album was hard to swallow. I was still in the closet and I was not comfortable in my skin. I would say the album pushed me to be more honest and authentic in that way. Marry the night was my anthem in my darkest times back in those days... It was heartbreaking to see Gaga's descent from queen of the world during this era. When she vanished after the injury I was shook and felt abandoned... In retrospect, this album is my favorite album though. No contest. ARTPOP-- so then came ARTPOP. Applause was released and I thought it was basic as hell. Aura leaked and I thought the album was going to SLAY. Then the album came out and I thought it was a fantastical journey, albeit a disappointing one... aura demo was clearly "commercialized" into the album track. This era was confusing. I was very much developing a weed habit at this time and it seemed like Gaga was going through the same psychological **** as Me. I was in a weird spot and so was she. I felt so weird seeing her abandon all her old rules... Never seen not wearing heels, not wearing wigs, talking badly about her past work... I felt a sense of being off put. I really was shook by the girl behind the aura, the grittiness of it all. Looking back I think this album is really great though, 2nd favorite next to born this way. Joanne-- this album leaked the day I was visiting florida (my new home) for an interview at my grad school which I am currently enrolled in. Diamond heart, dancing in circles, joanne, angel down... Shook me to my core. I felt so happy that she was showing off a more emotionally in touch and raw side of herself. I felt like she was a new woman in a new spot and I was so on board with it as I felt in a time of transition too... Joanne is where my stanhood probably took a dip south though. I stopped following her so much mostly cause she seems like she doesn't want to be the old Gaga in that way anymore.. she just wants to make music and do shows. I felt offput by her acting pursuits and I was not and still am not really on board. We'll see once the movies out. But overall, this era... The superbowl, Coachella, the tour where she brought back deep cuts from born this way... Top knotch. And such a trip down memory lane. I grew up with Gaga! And now I'm a grown person, 24 years old. She is still and always will be my queen. Xoxoxo joanne
Enigma 7,182
ARTPOP inspired me to be a glitter****, Andy Wharol copycat mess and enjoy the joys of life without always thinking rationally In other words « it’s not a statement as much as just a move of passion » is my guideline in life now
Bazaar 5,752
The Fame: to work hard and never give up in order to achieve your dreams/goals. The Fame Monster: that not everything is perfect in life, and sometimes you'll find yourself in hard and dark moments. Born This Way: to accept and love yourself & people who are different than you. ARTPOP: not everything is about success and popularity, just stick up with your beliefs and creativity. Joanne: that life isn't perfect and everyone has bad and painful eras. That love doesn't always work but it's okay & you have to move on. And that our world can be cruel and we have to change it!
