Maybe the lack of MV was one of the reason but i read somewhere that it's not even gaining significant boost despite being promoted in the AMAs, The Voice, etc. and despite being played in radio.

It did decent outside the US tho considering Applause was local for Gaga's standards back then.

Anyway TEOG imo was different. It had massive potential and had it been the 2nd single, it's not a reach to say it would have gone #1. Judas was just a mistake on so many levels and started Gaga's decay on radio

but even not ranking, it doesn't mean Adele sold ZERO.. they better use the album sells + album equivalents (streaming and single sales) + radio points + tour points + social media points,

cause Adele's and Gaga's NUMBER 1 is just not the same with ONE DIRECTION being number 1 in 2014.. and sometimes a number 1 just like Adele's 25 era is just that FAR AHEAD from no.2 and no.3 , if they'll use that inverse chart formula then it's fvcked UP 

i'm rooting for Taylor as Artist of the Decade tho but Adele better be NUMBER 2

i AGRIH.

it's not that Adele has zero impact. look at Sam Smith, etc. but Gaga's impact in POP CULTURE is just UNPARALLELED this decade.

for me that's the artist of the decade. keep changing the game every album, influencing everyone, being iconic

According to Billboard the formula is: "Ranking is based on an artist's chart performance on the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200 and Social 50, as well as Boxscore touring revenue." 

So radio isn't a factor outside of hot 100 (THANK GOD )

On the podcast billboard did recently about the 'Artist of the Decade' they mentioned that it would hurt Adele's chances being out for 2 years but she was still in the running for the crown, they also didn't give details about how the formula will work.
